Review: Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli with Cheese & Vodka Sauce

Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli Will Have You Raving

Joshua McMorrow-Hernandez
Here's a new flavor from Healthy Choice that'll please lobster and seafood lovers: Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli with ricotta and parmesan cheese. Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli is like a refined lobster dinner wrapped up in one package.

Along with the lobster and ravioli you'll also find green and yellow zucchini swimming in a delicious tomato sauce flavored with vodka.

Look for Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli in your grocer's frozen section. It sells for about $2.50.

Preparation

You can easily prepare Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli in a conventional oven or microwave. Check out these instructions below.

Microwave

Be sure you cut a slit in the film covering the food tray. After, place the tray in your microwave and cook on HIGH for 2-1/2 minutes. After the lobster ravioli has cooked for 2-1/2 minutes, remove the tray and stir the ravioli, zucchini, and the sauce. Recover the tray with the film cover and then continue cooking your meal in the microwave on HIGH for another 1 to 2 minutes. Afterward, let the food stand in the microwave for about 2 minutes more before enjoying your meal.

Conventional Oven

After preheating your oven to 350 degrees, cut a slit in the film cover and then place the lobster ravioli tray onto a cookie sheet. Stick the cookie sheet into your oven and then let the meal cook for 30 to 35 minutes. After the meal has finished cooking, let it stand outside of the oven for 2 minutes.

Flavor

Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli provides flavors quite different from those which I'm used to tasting in meals that come in plastic containers that I either nuke or stick in an oven for half-an-hour. In fact, this is probably one of the freshest-tasting frozen meals I've had.

While I know many people simply aren't seafood fans, I think many would agree the lobster in this meal is just enough to deliver the aura of a seafood meal without reminding most people of docks or wharfs. I had a hard time seeing the lobster thanks to all the tomato sauce in this meal, so I can't comment on color or visual quality, but I will say the lobster flavor was prominent and of quality.

The ricotta and parmesan cheeses bring a nice blend of flavors to the meal, and the green and yellow zucchini bring bursts of even more life to this meal. The vodka flavor was present but muted within the context of the tomatoes, zucchini, cheese, and lobster ravioli.

Nutrition

Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli offers an array of health benefits. What might stand out at first is that an entire meal delivers only 250 calories! Sodium comes in at 580 milligrams, or about a quarter of the average person's daily recommended intake. You'll also get in 4 grams of dietary fiber in the Healthy Choice Lobster Ravioli meal. Vitamin C, folic acid, and copper come in at 10% with this meal. Striking is the fact that 35% of daily recommended Vitamin B12 can be found in this Healthy Choice offering.

I just posted a ravioli florentine smackdown, and a review of these nasty things. Smelled bad, tasted worse. Lobster doesn't smell like fish. Never. Again. Ever.

I agree with doris and donna. i took one bite and thought i was going to be sick! my boyfriend was upset that it made our whole kitchen smell awful. I threw it out and didn't think twice. in fact the only reason i got to this page was because i was googling this product to see what the hell was wrong with it. yes it is that bad!

I totally agree with Doris. It was horrible. I threw it away and went and got a school lunch. What does that tell you!
