Review of Hendricksons Restaurant of Bayonne, New Jersey
New Jersey Hendricksons Restaurant Opened Up in 1884
Atmosphere
In well over a century of operating a business, things are going to change, at least somewhat. While the décor inside of Hendricksons certainly isn't all original from the late 1800's, many of the old, thick wood support beams still can be found straddling about the ceiling. The tables, chairs and especially the fat wooden booths all ring true of another era. While awaiting your food order, you can pretend you've time traveled back into 19th century America.
Service is fast, friendly and you won't be waiting around forever to be seated. If you're thirsty, the bar located near the entrance will wet the whistle of anyone, no matter the soft drink beverage request, or preferred alcoholic poison.
Menu: The Eats
Succulent steaks, juicy burgers, tender chicken and fresh seafood heartily satisfies most any famished customer. Don't forget to take a lot of time to really look over the appetizers, because there's more here than found on menus of many a big chain eatery. You'll find the standard snack stuff like buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks, but save room for the sumptuous beef or shrimp tips smothered in garlic sauce. It's the kind of memorable appetizer that can easily double as a respectable main entree.
No worry, steak lovers, you won't be neglected come chow time here. Choose from sizzling steak and garlic, prime rib of beef, saucy saurebraten or a Steak Murphy, just to name a few mouth watering choices. In more of a sandwich mood? A steak sandwich here isn't just a mediocre afterthought, it's a true eating experience. You'll find the burgers to be sizable, to say the least, and you'll choose from a dozen tasty toppings and flavorful fixings. The little ones can choose from the Children's Menu - including kiddie burgers, chicken fingers, and foccocia pizza.
Summary
Open seven days a week, Hendricksons Restaurant in Bayonne, NJ located at 671 Broadway, offers up solid food at good prices, served within an authentic American historic environment. No dedicated parking lot means it's strictly park your car on the street, but it's usually not too bad. If you like those quaint pub and grub joints which pretend to be from another era, you'll love Hendricksons. It's not pretending anything - only providing hungry and thirsty patrons a really great dining experience.
