I was excited to do this review of the new "Herbal Essences: Dangerously Straight" shampoo and conditioner. I have long straight hair but I've always wanted it straighter. It waves a little here and there and frizzes at the ends.

The first thing you notice when you pour some in your hand is that you can actually see the strands of infused silk in the shampoo. The scent is wonderful, probably due to the additional infusion of "honey pear" as well. It is light and fresh. I washed my hair with it, rinsed and repeated as stated on the back of the bottle. My strands were literally squeaky clean and actually felt softer while I was rinsing it out the second time.

The same lovely scent envelopes you when you massage the conditioner into your scalp. My usual routine is to completely cover my locks and than clip up my hair while I enjoy a five minute soak to let the conditioner work. I did not deviate from that method this time. As I unclipped my hair and began to rinse it out, I immediately noticed how soft the stands were. I could slide my fingers through them easily and the product rinsed out cleanly.

I let my hair air dry and was a little disappointed to see that it was waving up as it usually does. It did not make my straight hair any straighter. My disappointment quickly faded though as the shine and smoothness came through the more it dried. My hair actually looked like hair does on commercials. I can honestly say that it has never felt or appeared this soft and manageable and my ends were frizz free!

With the way it literally coats every strand of your hair, I have no problem assuming that if you use a hair straightening iron or relaxant, this system will help you maintain your hair's health through the damaging processes. For the rest of us that does not use high heat to dry our hair, it still offers an abundance of shine and smoothness with its "infusion of honeyed pear and silk". I honestly hope that this line hits the shelf soon as I think I found my new hair care system.
