Review of Hillshires Entree Salads

Found in Your Grocer's Deli Section

Mary Lynn
I recently was introduced to a Hillshire Entrée Salad by a family member. It is usually found in the deli section of the grocery store and it comes in a clear container that is filled with salad add ins. All you have to add is your favorite lettuce and you will have a meal You can even use the container as a bowl and not mess up any dishes. Hillshire Farms Entrée salads usually retail around $299-3.99. The kit will keep fresh in the fridge for awhile because it does not come with lettuce, that makes it easy to stock up if you can catch a good sale. It is great to take to lunch or eat anytime.

Preparation of the Hillshire Farms Entrée Salads is easy. All that you do is open the kit and add lettuce then open all of the packets that came with you salad and add them in with the lettuce. The last step will be your dressing that is provided with your salad.

There are a variety of flavor choices from Hillshire Farms Entrée Salads. Let's start with my favorite the Turkey & Cranberries with Ham Julienne. The kit is packed with Smoked Turkey Breast, Smoked Ham, Dried Cranberries, and White Cheddar. It has a low fat Raspberry dressing.

Next is the Chicken Caesar Entrée Salad kit. It comes packed with Smoked Chicken breast cubes, Parmesan Cheese, Croutons, and a Caesar dressing. For a Caesar salad this one makes the grade.

Let's not forget about the Chicken & Bacon Club Entrée Salad. It comes with Oven Roasted Chicken, crumbled Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Croutons, and ranch dressing to top it off. This salad is one of the most versatile. You can add almost anything to this salad to make it more hearty than it already is.

If you are in the mood for Turkey, then try the Turkey & Ham Chef Entrée Salad Kit. It is packed with Smoked Turkey breast, smoked Ham, Cheddar Cheese, Croutons, and Ranch dressing.

These salads are great to carry to work as lunch. All you have to do is put you some lettuce in a Ziploc bag and take an Entrée Salad and then assemble at lunch time. I have even taken two Entrée Salads to a picnic for two and it worked out great.

If you choose you can even add fruit or vegetables to you salads. Cucumbers and tomatoes are great with most salads, Pineapple are also a good add in because you can purchase a small can and carry it just as easy as you can the Entrée Salads.

I hope that I have helped you on making a quick and easy meal that is healthy and flavorful. You are in control of what you put in the salads this way and you don't have to slave over a cutting board chopping and grating the items that are in the kits. You can find them in most grocery stores, so go and grab one and enjoy.

The inclusion of fat/calories/sodium/carbs/protein counts would have made this review helpful.
