Review of Holmes Electric Space Heater One Touch

We use the Holmes Electric Heater, One Touch, to quickly heat up individual rooms without needing to turn up the central heater. It's lightweight and easy to carry from room to room.

Attractive Features
The Holmes Electric Heater HFH2986-U is quiet and operates efficiently. It sends heat up to 5 feet away quickly and immediately once it's plugged in. It's quiet enough to use in a baby's room or toddler's room when they're lying down for a nap or to sleep at night.

The unit has no external buttons or knobs which eliminates the risk of breaking controls.

Compact is the best way to describe the unit which is 11 ½ inches high, 11 ½ inches wide and is 7 inches deep. The size makes it perfect to sit under a desk, on a shelf in a room, or even on a floor itself.

It's effective for room sizes that are about 10 x 10 to 12 x 15.

The unit will not overheat and it has an Eco-Smart energy saver feature which cycles between wattages to reduce power use. The Holmes Web site states "This innovation allows the heater to use 25% to 35% less energy than other space heaters."

We usually run our heater for about 30 minutes to 45 minutes at a time.

What to Expect
Don't expect to get really toasty with the Holmes Electric Heater One Touch. It's warm but it certainly doesn't overheat and won't make the user hot.

It's a basic comfort heater.

The temperature seems to stabilize after about 10 minutes; perhaps that's when the energy feature kicks in.

Overall, we like this unit better than a previous Holmes space heater that had multiple controls on a swivel base that worked well for about two years.
