Review of Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum

I belong to Homescan, which is a company you earn points for scanning your groceries. Those points are redeemable for all sorts of things. Well I wasn't really expecting much when I saw the Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum listed. However, I thought what the heck. I've never had a bagless vacuum, why not try one for free? I couldn't think of an easier way to go green then to stop using vacuum bags.

When it came, I had to put it together which I found slightly confusing. I had thought the vacuum being apart the way it was, would make it a weaker vacuum in the handle, this is not the case. I found the vacuum to be extremely sturdy.

I was impressed and pleased by all the onboard attachments. It made cleaning a breeze having everything at my finger tips. I was also impressed with the automatic cord rewind of 24 feet of cord and the lifetime heap filter. I will freely admit this house is old and has a lot of dust, so I was REALLY looking forward to using this new Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum.

When I first started my Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum it sounded like a jet plane. It was loud, and I do mean loud. It took off the first layer of dead natty carpet off my carpet and quickly filled the canter. I wasn't upset as the Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum was set to high, so it shouldn't have removed it unless it was necessary, and it was. My carpet was cleaner, smoother, and less dusty, just as the day it was when we first moved in.

Everyone that visited noticed the difference right away. I noticed my TV, tables, phones, answering machines, computers, DVD player, VCR's laptops, stereo systems, and game systems were all saying dust free that is until about 6 months of having the Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum. I never noticed that the sound level decreased over time as had the sucking power. But my brother warned me this would happen. He had previously sworn off bagless vacuums after spending money on them only to stop working after 6 months. I was really upset he was right, and I desperately wanted to prove him wrong.

I took the vacuum into my kitchen and proceeded to take out the canter that held the dust. I also took the spinning filter unit off the top and in there was yet another filter and it was PACKED! I couldn't believe how packed it was. I took it outside and cleaned it, then finished cleaning it in my kitchen sink with water. I let the unit dry as I finished wiping the Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum down. Once dry I put the filter in place, but the canter back in and turned the unit on. The Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum ran just as loud as the day I purchased it, and vacuumed just as strong. I was elated! Needless to say, I called my brother right away to let him know the news. He was pleased, but still is sticking to the bag filled vacuums. I feel as if I have gone green at least in one area of my life.

Warnings I'd like to pass on. Be careful when pressing the automatic rewind button to not hold it down. The cord will come whipping at you and you could get injured or if some thing is near by it could get broken.

Be sure to take the vacuum apart every 6 months or so to keep the filter clean.
