Microwave Preparation
Hormel's premium chili is easy to prepare thanks to a pull top lid. Simply transfer chili to a microwave-safe dish, cover loosely and heat two to three minutes, stirring midway. Let cool briefly and serve.(The can also has instructions for heating in a saucepan on the stove top.)
Taste and Appearance
This white chicken chili looks surprisingly similar to the image on the can. There are visible spices, vegetables, navy beans and ample chunks of chicken. Although this chili contains jalapenos, the taste is flavorful and rich without being too spicy. The cream sauce is a perfect backdrop for the spices and the combined effect is reminiscent of a chicken enchilada with green sauce and sour cream. All of the ingredients, including the beans, blend nicely to create a homemade taste. The hearty white chicken chili is delicious as is and does not need additional toppings, such as shredded cheese or diced onions, to make it palatable. Overall, it is filling and tasty without being heavy and greasy.

Room for Improvement
As with many convenience foods, Hormel's White Chicken Chili is high in sodium.
Some of the larger pieces of chicken create a dry mouth feel.
The Last Bite
Hormel's Chili Master products cost more than plain canned chili, but the two products are completely different. This hearty chili is worth the price and makes a quick and easy meal. I plan to occasionally purchase this product in the future.
