Review of Hotel Zaza in Dallas, Texas - Trendy Hotel Offers Luxury, Style and Nightlife

Heather Belle
Hotel Zaza, located in the trendy Uptown of Dallas, Texas (2332 Leonard Street Dallas, Texas 75201), offers a mini vacation without the need to even leave the property. You can tell just by stepping through the lobby doors that you've entered in to a swanky up-scale hot spot for not only tourists, but locals too.

Zaza offers a wide variety of guest rooms that range from basic hotel rooms to magnificently themed suites. We recently stayed in one of the middle options of rooms (called a concept suite) on the night our wedding. Although we did not see the basic rooms or the inside of one of the "Magnificent Seven Suites", I'm sure every single one of them is lavish and offers plenty of space for any couple. Our room, which was the biggest hotel room that I have ever seen, was decorated in rich reds, tans, and purples. It also included a rather large desk area that offered free high-speed internet. Since we were leaving for our honeymoon the following morning, we did not have a laptop with us, but we did make use of the complimentary business center to print our airplane boarding passes. If the internet provided in the rooms is the same as the service in the business center, you will not have any problem connecting your laptop to the internet. Our room had a king-sized bed (but there are rooms with double beds, too) with bedding that is absolutely to die-for; you will never want to even leave the bed unless you get swept up in the nightlife going on downstairs in the hotel.

The bathroom products were fabulous; my husband does not normally get excited about things like that, but he loved the line they included geared towards men. The only issue that we had was that our bathroom did not have a bathtub, so the shower did not have any type of side or door to keep the water out. So basically, the water flowed out of the shower straight on to the bathroom floor; I'm not sure if this is standard for all rooms or not, but we were not really a fan of this. It was hard for my husband to be standing at the sink without being in a puddle of water while I was in the shower.

Our suite also included a mini-refrigerator that contained any type of mixer and liquor that you could ask for - along with most major beers. There are also gourmet snacks on top of the refrigerator. Be prepared though that this is an up-scale hotel, so of course, the drinks and snacks in the room are going to be pricey, too.

As I mentioned above, the hotel has a collection of rooms deemed the "Magnificent Seven Suites." With themes ranging from "red shoes" to "rock star," I'm sure these rooms will not disappoint for large groups traveling together. Our concept suite was eleborately decorated, so I'm sure these suites are stunning.

Zaza offers two nightlife spots-to-be - Urban Oasis and Dragonfly. Although we did not hit these spots the night of our wedding, I have been to Dragonfly before. Both places are places to see and to be seen! Urban Oasis is a poolside dreamland for anyone who loves emersing themselves in nightlife! Dragonfly, the hotel's restaurant, offers meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and becomes "the" place to be after the sun goes down.

We did not take advantage of the spa and fitness center since we only stayed for one night, but I have heard only great things from friends. I'm sure the Zaspa is a wonderful place to be pampered.

The hotel also offers many in-room packages - girl's night out to romance. The staff was wonderful and let us check-in early since the groom and bestman had to check-in before the ceremony and be back to our wedding location on time. And, when we got to our room that night, a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries were awaiting us! The staff had even personalized a card wishing us good luck in our marriage; it was really neat to receive our first piece of stationary addressed as "Mr. and Mrs." so soon! Check-out was quick and easy; great staff, wonderful hotel, and ideal place for any young adults looking for a great time in Dallas! And, if you do plan on venturing out in to the city, you're only minutes away from all of the local hotspots and American Airlines Center (home of the Dallas Stars, Mavericks, and most major concerts/sporting events.)

I will say though that I do not think this is a family hotel; the nightlife downstairs is always going strong and there are a lot of young business professional locals that stay here too for a night on the town. If you're a couple or a group of single friends looking for a great hotel in a perfect location, Zaza is definitely the one for you! And, facts among Dallas locals, this hotel definitely attracts the rich and famous when they're in town; so, you never know who you may just end up next to at Dragonfly!

With a name like Hotel Zaza, I think I would like it. It sounds so awesome, except the part about the shower. That's a little weird. Great article.

Congrads on your recent wedding and on becoming a New CP. I hope to get to that place one day. First I have to figure out how to get the articles I type up published.
