Review of the Hottie and the Nottie Starring Paris Hilton and Christine Lakin

A Silly but Funny Story with a Message

Tuesday May 6th the DVD of the movie The Hottie and the Nottie starring Paris Hilton will be released. There are spoilers so read at your discretion. Today I watched the screener. I wasn't expecting much from this movie. After watching Paris Hilton in The Simple Life and Pledge This, I just have not been one to watch a movie that Paris is in. However I think my opinion may be changing after seeing The Hottie and the Nottie.

The movie starts off with a young man who has never forgotten the beautiful girl who captured his heart in the first grade. It has been 20 years since he moved away. After breaking up with his girlfriend he travels 3000 miles to find who he believes is his first and only true love Cristobel Abbot.

With out giving away a lot of the movie Nate finds out how to get noticed by Cristabel Abbott and win her heart. Christobel is gorgeous and men are waiting every where to try and win her attention. But she has sworn not to date again until her best friend June Phigg has someone also.

But finding someone for June is not an easy task. June is as far from a hottie as is possible. Nate takes on the challenge however. The movie is a feel good story. It is not meant to be a movie that will leave you breathless. I would not rate it as one of my all time favorite movies. But from what I have seen previously from Paris Hilton movies it is a pretty good movie. I watched it with my husband, 13 year old daughter, 17 year old son and 16 year old niece and her 18 year old boyfriend. We all enjoyed the movie and got some laughs out of it. We all agree it is worth buying and adding to your movie collection.

It is not often you can find a movie that such a diverse group of people would enjoy. I especially did not expect this from a Paris Hilton movie but I was happily surprised. I think the movie could have went a little more in-depth into showing the change of June Phigg played by Christine Lakin, from a nottie into a hottie. The movie shows that you never know who your heart will love. As in real life it is usually the last person that you may have expected it to be.

Even if you think Paris Hilton is not a good actress I recommend watching The Hottie and The Nottie. It will give you some laughs along the way as you watch Nate Cooper chase after who he believes is his true love to discover his true love may not be who he expected it to be after all.
