Review of House on the Fox Network

Angewl
I did not find one of the funniest medical drama's on television until it was well into its first season. House is on Fox on Tuesdays in the 9-10 pm est slot. They also show reruns on the Fox and USA networks.

Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House is an infectious disease specialist so believably sarcastic and brilliantly funny. His wit and often times unsolicited and unwarranted remarks can leave you speechless or holding your stomach in laughter. His character has no bed-side manner at all and when he can get away without even speaking personally to a patient, he is happiest. He can be brutally honest, straight to the point and very well respected. Even respected by those who wish to hate him.

He is dealing with his own pain, walking with a cane and constantly popping pain pills while trying his best to get out of clinical duties. He is drawn to medical cases that are a challenge. A case that has no easy cure or even an easy diagnosis. A mystery, if you will.

Dr. House has three doctors on his team.

Omar Epps portrays Dr. Eric Foreman who is an neurologist who came from the wrong side of the tracks. He has a criminal history from when he was younger and has fought diversity all his life. He has a hard time separating his past from who he is now. Dr. Foreman is the closest to being like House and that scares him.

Dr. Robert Chase, played by Jesse Spencer is an intensivist. Dr. Chase comes from money and a father who a famous doctor as well. He wants to be known by his own abilities and not be known because of who his father is.

The last person on Dr. House's team is an immunologist named Dr. Allison Cameron, who is played by Jennifer Morrison. Dr. Cameron is very nice and kind. She is also naive and gullible. She is the one with the heart on this team. The complete opposite of House. She has been in love with House and thinks there is kindness in there, somewhere.

Oncology Specialist Dr. James Wilson is House's friend. Really, his only true friend. Robert Sean Leonard who plays Dr. Wilson believes in telling the and is kind hearted. He is the male version of Dr. Cameron. He falls in love easily and loves women. How him and Dr. House are such good friends is a complete mystery.

Lisa Edelstein plays the administrator of the hospital and dean of medicine, Dr. Lisa Cuddy. There is always a battle going on between her and House, but she is the first to say he is the best.

This show can be so heart-wrenching and have you on the edge of you seat.

If you have never seen this show, you are probably asking yourself what could possibly be so funny?

The interaction between all six of those characters is brilliant. They work so well together.

Just to show you what you have been missing, the following are some of the funny lines straight from House on the show:

"You are one evil, cunning woman. It's a massive turn on."

"She was being metaphorical. She was trying to sound like me. I have no idea what you meant, but I could smell what the Rock was cooking."

"Is this an intervention? You're a little late, since I'm not using drugs anymore. I am, however, still hooked on phonics."

"Okay, fine. I'll father your child. But first you gotta write me a Vicodin prescription. Just so I can get through the foreplay."

I highly recommend this show. Once you start watching you will quickly become as addicted as I am.

I am now going to leave you with one more House-ism just to show you what you may have been missing:

Foreman: "I had a date last night. She screamed too. You think we should spend a hundred thousand dollars testing her?"
House: "Of course now. This isn't a veterinary hospital. Zing!"
