Review on HP F2120 All-In-One Printer

M
I was in search of a printer, scanner and copier to replace my Lexmark which was obsolete since I purchased my new Sony laptop with Windows Vista. I waited for Lexmark to come out with a driver that would make my overpriced Lexmark compatible with Vista but it never happened. Finally, I contacted Lexmark to ask what the future of this was and they informed me that my Lexmark All in One would never work with my new laptop. They did offer me a discount of 10% off a new Lexmark printer but I was too upset to even think about buying a new Lexmark.

So I went searching on the internet for a new all in one printer. I wanted a scanner so I didn't have to keep running to Staples every time I had something to fax to someone who I could simply just send an e-mail attachment. I didn't want to spend over a hundred dollars again on a printer which may or may not give me the quality I am looking for. Actually, I wasn't looking for any quality. I just wanted something that will print out some documents and scan to files. I don't print off pictures because Walgreens and Wal-Mart do a fine job without the hassle of me trying to get a printer to give me photo quality pictures.

Whenever I want to purchase something, I think of an amount that I want to spend. If I can't find it for that price, I usually just forget it and manage with what I have. In this case, I would continue to go to Staples for my faxing and copying needs. I didn't have to keep making the trip for long because I finally found what I was looking for and for the price lower than what I wanted to pay.

The HP F2120 All in One Printer is exactly what I was looking for. It prints in color and black, it scans to save to file and copies. This printer was less than what I wanted to pay, which is always a good thing. You can find this exact printer at Target for $39.00. Granted this printer is not for someone who would like to print off photos or high quality images but it's perfectly fine for printing documents. When you are scanning, it really doesn't matter how good of a quality it is as long as you can see the details when you save it to a file. Copying is just that, copying so you won't lose quality on that. For 39.00 you can't beat the versatility of this machine. The saying usually goes, you get what you pay for but in this case, I got more than what I paid.

The scanner has stopped working on mine! The copier stopped working long ago, and the printer won't print documents in both color and black on the same document. It's quite frustrating, but what is to be expected for #40.

I had one here for two weeks while setting up my father-in-law's new PC. My wife scanned so many photos (for email) on it, that we hated to see it go. She decided we're getting one. Your review helped. Thanks!
