HP equips this beautiful machine with the very popular Core 2 Duo T6600 processor provided by Intel, clocked at 2.2 GHZ. The amount of memory is good you get 4GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1,066MHz. HP Pavilion dv4-1555dx has a Hitachi hard drive that can store up to 320 GB spinning at 7200 rpm. The 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 CPU does its job like it is supposed to do, providing top performance in its product class.
The numbers above seem to be pretty decent, but of course there is a downside, the graphic card is an integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD, so forget the gaming part.
To stay connected with the world, Pavilion dv4-1555dx is equipped with: Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, HP mobile broadband (WWAN). The dv4-1555dx has eSATA/USB port, 2x USB 2.0, and a multi card reader. I expected to find at least 4 USB 2.0 ports. You won't get Bluetooth and FIrewire.
HP also puts an optical drive, a DVD burner. Of course you will find ports for VGA and HDMI.
Dimensions are normal for this class, here they are: 13.2 x 9.5 x 1.6 inch and a screen measuring 14.1 inch, all the system weighing 5.4 pounds, a little too much but nothing out of the ordinary.
The display has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Because of the high quality colors that the dv4-1555dx delivers, watching videos will be a very nice experience.
Also the sound of the HP Pavilion dv4-1555dx is above its competitors, the two speakers provided by Altec Lansing doing their job extremely well.
Pavilion dv4-1555dx comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, and feels just right on this machine, multitasking is not a serious challenge for the dv4-1555dx.
The weakest point of the Pavilion dv4-1555dx is the 6 cell Li-ion battery that won't last you very long, so don't expect anything over 3 and a half hour.
When you purchase the HP Pavilion dv4-1555dx you get 1 year warranty, and in the box you will also find an infrared remote control to control various functions.
You also get preinstalled a few programs like: Norton Internet Security 2009 trial version, Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition trial version, CyberLink DVD Suite, Microsoft Works, HP MediaSmart Suite, HP Help and Support.
You can use the software called MediaSmart to manage and play your media.
If you want a beautifully designed machine, and looks are above battery life for you, then HP Pavilion dv4-1555dx may be a nice choice. Also let's not forget the nice performances that the HP Pavilion dv4-1555dx delivers at this price.
