I have been in need of a wireless printer for years. I got sick of having to connect my printer to my router, or my laptop simply to print an email, or whatever. It was a huge waste of my time, so when this product test came up, I was the first in line. I was tickled pink when the printer came, not only was it wireless but an HP Printer to boot! How totally awesome, I adore HP.
I was very eager to get moving on the product testing, of the all in one photosmart wireless printer by HP. It's on screen display blew me away, you don't need a computer in order to use this printer, everything you need is within itself. The touch color screen is really very sensitive, and can be moved up, and down. This feature of it being able to be moved verses lying down makes it easier when going through a lot of photos you need to scan. When the screen is down laying flat I have ticked it many times accidentally.
The HP Photosmart Premium All in One printer allows you to directly connect to your "snapfish" account on the internet to order, upload, etc photos. I don't see how this is really that useful when you have a photo printer in front of your face, why would you want to order prints? It's an interesting feature nonetheless.
The HP Photosmart Premium All in One wireless printer is preprogrammed with calendars, checklist, music paper, graph paper, mazes, games, sudoku and more. This is really handy when you need graph paper, and none is around, or something to entertain the kids, simply print a game, such as tic tac toe, or dots.
You can print directly from your mobile phone, IPod, or anything with Bluetooth. It of course has the typical card reader like every other model.
The set up process for the HP Photosmart Premium All in One Wireless Printer was really quick, simple, and straight forward, as long as you only have to do it once.
The ink cartridges for HP Photosmart Premium All in One Printer don't last as long as they claim, and certainly aren't as cheap as posted on the box $9.99.
Downfalls: HP Smart Web Printing is a waste of RAM, and starts up when you start up your computer. You need to disable it, and in whatever browsers you use.
The biggest downfall ever is HP Photosmart Premium All in One Wireless Printer doesn't seem to retain its memory. You have already spent about 10 minutes programming it's location, wireless connection etc, and you power it down, even leaving it plugged it, when you go back to turn it on, consider yourself blessed that it actually remembers what you spent all that time entering. If it doesn't, just turn it off, and walk away. I've spent hours trying to get it to turn back o,n and "remember" what it was programmed with. So I have to store everything in a folder for when I turn the HP wireless printer on, and it can do what it's meant to do, really VERY annoying, and lame.
The printer doesn't print anywhere near the speed you would expect out of an HP printer, so if fast is something you must have in a printer, walk on by this model.
Word of warning, never post you are a "HP Product Tester" on your "LinkedIn" profile, that's just plain silly, and will get you booted from ever testing their products again. Being an HP product tester is no more a big deal then having a Myspace account, and you certainly wouldn't put that on your resume now would you? LOL. LinkedIn is a professional site; it should be treated, and respected as such.
I rate the HP Photosmart Premium All in One Wireless Printer a 4 out of 10 stars. It needs to go back to the factory for some major adjustments, as in a home business environment this printer is not the printer for you to get things done. For everyday (if you are lucky) home use, then yes this might be fine, should you never ever shut it off. You can purchase this printer anywhere from $150 - $300.
