Review: Hypoallergenic Natural Oat Aveeno Baby Wash and Shampoo

Aveeno Baby Wash and Shampoo is made by the Johnson and Johnson family of products. I decided to try it because my two year old daughter has extremely sensitive skin. She suffers from eczema, allergy rashes and dermatitis.

The Product

Aveeno Baby Lightly Scented Natural Oat Formula is tear free and gentle cleansing for hair and body. I purchased the 8 fluid ounces bottle. It is soap-free and hypoallergenic. It claims to clean without drying out your babies skin.

How I used it

I used the Aveeno Baby Wash and Shampoo on my two year old daughter and my one year old son's hair and body. I applied it to my children by squeezing a small amount on a wash cloth and lathering it. After applying the baby wash, I rinsed with water.

How well it worked

The Aveeno Baby wash did work into a nice rich lather. I was also impressed with how well it rinsed clean. I did not have to keep rinsing it to remove it from my children's hair. This is always a plus because both my children hate having their hair washed and rinsed. It made my job a lot easier. Both my children have blonde hair and it left their hair very shinny and clean. I loved the fact that it did not leave their bath water feeling soapy and dirty too.

Sensitivity Factor

I am happy to report that my daughter's sensitive skin had no adverse reactions at all. Aveeno baby wash did not cause my daughter to break out, or dry out her skin. Both my son and daughter's skin felt soft and smooth after using it.

Lightly Scented

Aveeno's baby wash and shampoo claims to be lightly scented. On the contrary it actually had a pretty strong scent. The fragrance is light, crisp and clean smelling, but is much stronger than I expected. I did read the ingredients and fragrance is the last ingredient. So even though there is little fragrance added, it makes it's presence known. I did not mind it though, because it is an appealing scent.

I do recommend Aveeno Baby Lightly Scented Wash and Shampoo Natural Oat Formula. I am thrilled that it worked so well on my daughter's sensitive skin. I loved the lather and how well it rinsed clean. It was moisturizing and left my children's skin feeling soft and smooth. Their hair was very shinny and clean too. It is a wonderful product for families with babies and toddlers. I will definitely continue to use it in the future.
