Review: InStyler Rotating Iron

With the many commercials you may have seen on the InStyler Rotating Iron, you might be tempted to try this so called "answer to all of your problems." The website and advertisements say that this straightening iron offers straight and smooth hair no matter what type of hair you have. The InStyler is also said to work better than any other product because it has a rotating brush attached to the iron, which is supposed to separate all of your hair in order to straighten each piece individually.

Thankfully, the product has a 30 day return policy, because what they don't show on television is how many times you will have to go over each strand of your hair. While they quickly straighten someone's faux frizzy locks on TV, they showed that it can take only seconds to get the look you want. Meanwhile, I have long frizzy curls, and it took me over an hour to straighten my hair with this product. I already have a straightening iron at home, and with that it only takes me 30 minutes to straighten my hair. So, not only did I pay $14.99 upfront for a 30 day trial, but if I chose to keep it, I'd have to pay a small payment of $39.00 a month for 3 months. They don't really mention that part out loud on the commercial.

Not only did this product cause me to spend an hour straightening my hair, but my hair looked like a brillo pad had gone through it when I was done. I felt as though it was frizzier when I was done then when I started. I've heard that the InStyler will actually turn naturally straight hair to be frizzy.

It's hard to believe any commercial that can take a frizzy mess and make it beautiful and shiny within seconds. Unfortunately, there is no product out there than can change what Mother Nature has given you by snapping your fingers. This was a lesson I learned from buying the InStyler, and I'm disappointed in my purchase.

I have returned the product, and I'm thankful that I didn't get stuck having to pay nearly $120.00 for a cheap piece of plastic that could barely make its way through my hair, and cause me an extra 30 minutes of hair taming in the morning. This product clearly does not do anything close to what it's claiming on its commercials, and I would not recommend this product to anyone.
