Review of the Jardine Americana Lifetime Convertible Crib by Jardine Enterprises

MomToMaia
The Jardine Americana Lifetime Convertible Crib is a great investment for any fist time parent, as this crib will last throughout your child's life. When your little one has outgrown the crib it converts into a daybed as well as a full sized headboard. This crib comes in a variety of colors, which is great for any nursery. It's design has a very nice look and it's on the classic side.

The crib was not as easy to put together as one would hope, and it took longer than anticipated. We've also had to tighten some of the screws a few times. However, maybe that was all user error? After the Jardine Americana Lifetime Convertible Crib was all set up, and we had the fitted sheet on the mattress and the mobile up, I was very happy with the simplicity. Then came the tricky part, well, what I thought to be tricky at the time. It was time to practice putting baby (stuffed animal) in a taking baby out. Not so easy at 5'4", and we had the mattress all the way up. It took some getting used to and it wasn't that comfortable having to lean so far over and against the edge of the crib.

The Jardine Americana Lifetime Convertible Crib is a great purchase for those on a tighter budget than others. This crib will not break your savings compared to some of the other prices on other brands. Also, keep in mind that it converts so you do not have to buy a bed for your little one as he or she gets older. If you are looking for an entire set of nursery furniture, not just a crib, you can also get a matching 5 drawer chest and dresser/changing combo. They are all part of the Jardine Americana collection.

The finish on the Jardine Americana Lifetime Convertible Crib lacks a little something, though. There are a few spots that are discolored and also it did get a bit scratched up. These are not major things that are all that noticeable, however it did have me a little upset. The color we chose was Natural (the colors in the collection are Natural, Oak and Coffee). While it's a nice color, it was lighter than the display model and a little lighter than I would have liked to be honest. Again, not a major issue certainly.

Overall, I am happy with the Jardine Americana Lifetime Convertible Crib. The look of it will be nice over the years since it's not too modern. I love the fact that we will not have to purchase a toddler bed since this is a convertible and we have options.

We bought this crib 3 yrs ago for our new baby. By the time she had teeth, she had actually chewed into the wood in several places. We called the company and they send replacements. It is much less durable than the hand me down cribs we used for our other children. BUT we are still using it... currently trying to figure out how to convert it to a toddler bed.

Can someone tell me how they go about converting this crib to a full size bed. Grandma bought another bed and I want to make this into a full size bed in a guest room. Please help!

The Jardine Americana Lifetime Crib is not safe!!! I bought this crib for my Grandson. He is only six weeks old. This crib has three finger joint on the top rail. One of the finger joints have ALREADY SEPARATED!!! A child can easily get caught in the separated joint. Do not buy this crib. I hate to see a child get hurt or worse, because of a poorly, cheaply, carelessly constructed crib!!!

The Jardine Americana convertible crib is good. We did not have any problems putting it together. We did buy the whole bedroom set. The changing table and the dresser are both a piece of CRAP!! They are already falling apart. I have had everything for 18 months, and we are already looking for new furniture. I want to complain to someone, but I check the web and this stupid company doesn't even have a website. This is garbage and anyone looking to save a few bucks should not buy this product. There are better furniture makers out there.
