Review: Johnson's Natural Baby Shampoo & Johnson's Head-to-Toe Foaming Baby Wash
Avoid Potential Cancer-causing Ingredients, Use Johnson and Johnson's Natural Instead!
My Coworker shared an article with me today that had me researching the ingredients in my Baby Shampoo. The article, Are You Using This Popular But Cancer-Causing Shampoo?, definitely made me think twice about what I buy for my baby. I was happy to find that the products I use, Johnson's Natural Baby Shampoo and Johnson's Natural Head-to-Toe Foaming Baby Wash do NOT contain the hazardous ingredients mentioned in the above article. However, certain Johnson's Original products still do contain the potential cancer-causing ingredients. For your baby's safety, I highly recommend using the Johnson's Natural line of products instead.
Johnson's Natural Baby Shampoo and Johnson's Natural Head-to-Toe Foaming Baby Wash both contain 98% all natural ingredients. Most of the ingredients are derived from water, plants, or vegetables. This is not the case with Johnson's Original line of products where most of the ingredients sound like chemicals, and at least a couple are called out as having hazardous quality. The small 2% of synthetic ingredients are used, as the website states, for the "the ongoing safety and preservation of our gentle formula". Johnson's Natural does not contain any added coloring or artificial fragrance.
When I first bought the J&J's Natural products, I didn't even consider the price. It seemed reasonable considering It takes a baby a long time to go through a bottle of shampoo and baby wash. I purchased the Natural products specifically because my doctor said to stay away from added fragrances or alcohol which could dry baby's sensitive skin. Spending a few dollars more is worth it for the all natural ingredients. I purchased both of these items on sale, so shop around and wait for sales and the price won't even be an issue.
Some people think that all natural products can't possibly work as well as chemical man-made products, but that simply isn't the case. The only reason synthetic products are more popular is because they are cheaper! Johnson's Natural Baby Shampoo was working so well for my baby's hair that I decided to try it for myself. I don't use it every shower, but when I do my hair is just as soft and smooth as my baby's hair. The Johnson's Natural Head-to-Toe Foaming Baby Wash provides enough foam and soap to clean my baby well. After a bath, she feels soft and clean and smells great - from Head-to-Toe!
If you think all baby shampoos and soaps are the same, think again. Take a close look at the ingredients in the products you are buying not only for baby, but also for yourself. Show these companies that you will not stand for having potential cancer-causing ingredients in your products, no matter how much cheaper it is! There may be even safer products on the market, but for now, switching from Johnson's Original to Johnson's Natural is a step in the right direction.
