The menu has a wide variety of choices. The children's menu has about six or seven different choices such as tacos, chicken fingers, quesadillas and burgers. Children's meals come with french fries, apple slices, a drink and either M&M's or a pack of Starburst at the end of the meal. All children's meal are $2.98. What a bargain!! The plate is full of food!!! There is always leftovers to take home and my kids can eat!!
The regular menu has so many different choices that it can be difficult for a person to choose. Some choices are tacos, quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas, taco salads and even some non Mexican options. The chicken taco salad is a favorite of mine. It is in an edible taco shell and is huge. It has shredded seasoned chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers and cheese. You can add guacamole or sour cream and you get your choice of salad dressing or salsa to go on top of the salad. I always get salsa with my salad and it tastes so good you can't help but over eat!! The fajitas and enchiladas are wonderful too. The quesadillas, chicken, beef or cheese are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. My kids love to get the cheese quesadillas and dip it in the homemade salsa.
Every table gets a big basket of chips and a good size bowl of salsa. It only takes seconds before those are gone!! The chips and salsa are never ending. They just keep bringing more as long as you want. The appetizer menu is filled with a great variety of foods to get your tastebuds wanting more.
The service has been awesome every time we have gone and we have gone many times in the past few years. You sometimes have to wait up to an hour to get a seat but it is so worth it. The atmosphere is casual and kid friendly. They even have balloons and crayons and paper for the kids entertainment. There is outside seating on those beautiful days. The bar has a great variety of drinks with a specialty being...you guessed it...Margheritas.
From the time you walk into the festive doors to the time that you finish up your meal and leave, you will not be disappointed. The prices are so incredibly affordable that you will wonder how that is possible. I recently went with my husband, sister and my four children and our total bill was $55, for dinner. We each got an entree and two appetizers to share plus one alcholic beverage. If that doesn't scream affordability, I don't know what would!!
If you are in NJ and can find a Jose Tejas near you, go try it out. You will not be disappointed!! The sign in the restaurant says "Free Cerveza Manana". That means free beer tomorrow. You even get a cheap laugh while there!! Enjoy!!!

Post a CommentIf you really knew what goes on behind the scenes at that place, you would never want to eat there again...the kitchen is filthy. What really appalled me was the cockroach problem, I guess ignorance is bliss to some though...
