Review of the Kid Rock Concert At the Emerald Theatre

Sulli
Kid Rock's performance at the Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, was nothing short of amazing! He came out on stage at about 8:45 singing his new song "Rock N Roll Jesus." He was wearing a white suit, black dress shirt, signature black hat and sunglasses. Kid Rock was looking stylish all night. He changed his outfit slightly, a few times during the show. After the first few songs, he striped off his white coat, just having his black shirt and white tie on. They he took that off and just had the white coat on. Then he took that off and had another signature look for him, the white wife beater shirt on. By the end of the night, he of course, had no shirt on. You could tell he has been working out and tanning too. The days of his beer belly are gone and his arms are toned as well. He also switched hats a few times, from his trademark black hat, to a baseball cap, to several cowboy hats as well.

The venue was packed and hot, with all the excitement from the crowd roaring all night long. There was so much enthusiasm and energy in the air. Kid Rock played songs from old albums as well as some off his soon to be released new album "Rock N Roll Jesus." He played for over an hour and a half, getting in as many as 18 songs in that time frame. Other crowd favorites that he performed were Cowboy, Picture, Bawitdaba, Cocky, America Bad Ass, and Only God Knows Why. One of his new songs has a Lynard Skynard song as the music, but different lyrics. His newest radio hit "So Hott" was a crowd pleaser too. Kid Rock's newer songs have a bit of a different style to them from his past music, but that just goes to show he is growing and evolving as an artist. His new song "Lowlife" is said to be released on CD's only sold at Wal-Mart, fittingly enough. "Amen" has more of a gospel sound too it, sounding like something you'd listen to on a Sunday afternoon. He is a very versatile artist and can do just about any genre of music you can think of.

For the crowd of 1500 that was at the concert, it was quite a special event. Tickets went on sale the day before the performance and sold out in just a few minutes, if that. Selling for $49.00 a piece, that didn't stop fans from gobbling them up. Being that Kid Rock is from the Mt. Clemens area, it's like a home coming concert to all of his friends. Many of his friends as well as his family were at the show. His dad and sister could be seen hanging out amongst the crowd. This was the first time his new songs had been performed live as well. Kid Rock has always had hometown love, mentioning many local hangouts and location in many of his songs. This was a great way to reward his long time followers and local fan base. This show at the Emerald Theatre was the first on a short tour of small venues. Undoubtedly, Kid will tour the big venues later this year/early next year to support his new album.
