I decided to try the Almonds & Apricots in Yogurt which costs $1.99 and comes in a pink wrapper. The wrapper's partially c-thru and has Kind's signature yellow, orange, green, and blue stripes in the upper right corner.
Underneath the stripes, in a black box, there's a checklist about the features of the Almonds and Apricots bar. Apparently it's all natural, gluten free, wheat free, has a low glycemic index of 28, it's a good source of fiber, non GMO, and it has no sulfur dioxide or trans fat. Plus this Kind Bar is very low in sodium.
The label also states that the Kind Company donates 5% of their profits to the Peace Works Foundation.
This flavor contains almonds, a yogurt compound made from sugar, palm kernel oil, skim milk powder, skim yogurt powder, soy lecithin, and apricots made from an apricot paste, vegetable based glycerol, pectin, apple fiber, and citric acid. The other ingredients in the bar are honey, shredded coconut, coconut chips, glucose, puffed rice, chicory fiber, and soy lecithin.
There are 210 calories and 120 fat calories in Almonds & Apricots in Yogurt. It has 13g of total fat, 6g of saturated fat, 0mg of cholesterol, and 30mg of sodium. The Kind bar also has 19g of carbs, 3g of fiber, 17g of sugar, and 4g of protein.
When I unwrapped it I found that the bar consists of a mixture of honey covered coconut shreds blended with whole pieces of almonds and tiny pieces of apricots. The bar has a yogurt coating drizzled on top of it and the whole base is covered with it.
To me this bar should be called Coconuts & Almonds because that's what it mostly tastes like. It reminds me a lot of an Almond Joy with the chocolate substituted for a sweet yogurt concoction.
I really enjoyed it because all of the flavors tasted fresh and they all worked well together. I liked the yogurt because it was sweet without tasting artificial. And even though there wasn't a ton of apricots in this bar there was enough to balance out all of the sweetness and give this Kind bar some tangy flavor.
In the End...
I really like the Almonds & Apricots in Yogurt Kind Bar. I would try it again when I have a craving for candy, because this is sweet but semi-healthy and not full of artificial ingredients. I give it 4.5 out 5 stars.
