Review of the Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition Vacuum

I have three dogs, two kids, and a husband whom all radiate huge amount of dust, dirt, and grime through my house. I was in search for the best or the best when it came to vacuums. I am not one who picks up things before I vacuum. In my opinion, if it is dirt the vacuum should be able to handle it. I needed something tough, something strong, and something that would pick up anything that I could throw at it. The Kirby did just that. The model I have is the Ultimate G Diamond edition.

The die cast aluminum construction of the body has with stood the test of time in my house. It has been knocked down stairs, attacked by the dogs, and tossed through out the house yet it over comes it all. The addition of the Kevlar fan has been by far the most impressive move that Kirby has made over the years. I have sucked up Hot Wheels cars, dog toys, quarters or other change, just about anything imaginable and nothing has stopped the Kirby from working. Every time I step on the power button, my Kirby roars to life.

As unusual as it may sound the thing that sold me the most on my Kirby vacuum was its ability to suck up Christmas tree needles and not get clogged. This was a huge problem I had always had in the past with my old sweeper. The needles would be caught and clog up the whole system.

There are other smaller details that make the Kirby user friendly. The motor has a two-speed power switch, which allows you to change to just half power. This comes in extremely handy when vacuuming delicate items such as your curtains. The interchangeable handle that allows for easy step cleaning is also a plus.

There were many attachments that were including in my Kirby purchase. Very few of which I actually use. I am not impressed with the Kirby carpet cleaning attachment that uses foam to clean your carpet. My Hoover scrubber does a much better job. The Kirby hardwood floor cleaner is also a waste in my opinion.

The Kirby is made with an impressive strength and ability that I have not seen demonstrated in any other vacuums. Trust me I have had a lot over the years. One tip to remember if you are going to buy a Kirby is that $1600, $1200, or even $1000 is not their best price. You can easily get them down to $800 possibly less.
