Review of Knickerbocker's Bar & Grill in Washington, IL

Great Music, Food, and Style Makes Knickerbocker's a Wonderful Place to Hang!

Before it was Knickerbockers Bar & Grill, the place was Brogy's. Although I liked Brogy's, I believe there is no comparison to the changes they made when Knickerbocker's moved in! They took a drab old bar and turned it into a hip place to hang out!

The entire place received a well deserved overhaul! The whole environment is comfortable and the decor is spectacular. The addition of an outdoor patio for smokers and people that just want to get outside is cozy and comfortable, with booths and tables and another bar. It's a really neat outside environment!

I have been to Knickerbocker's on several occasions for different things. Meeting up with friends for drinks, having dinner, and meetings. Each time, the staff is extremely friendly, the food is fabulous (I highly recommend their wings & pizza), and the environment is inviting. The prices of their drinks are fairly reasonable, but some items from the bar can get pricey if you're not careful.

The first time I went into Knickerbocker's, I met a friend for drinks. We went on a Saturday night, and there was, unfortunately, a cover to get in. That is a huge disappointment for me, because we are a small town and I feel it's unnecessary. It is honestly a reason that I don't go there on weekends. They say it's because they have bands on those nights. Well, that night, they had a band, and let me tell you, the band was good, however, it was so loud, that my friend and I had to literally scream into each other's ears to be heard. An employee told me that the bands have their own sound people, but I feel it's Knickerbocker's responsibility to go up to them and say, "Hey, it's just a bit too loud."

The next time I went there, I met a friend for dinner. We decided on their wings, and I was simply blown away at how delicious they were. I can honestly say, they were the best wings I have eaten in my life. Monday nights, you can eat in and have wings for $.35 a piece. I could not get enough of them, and neither could my friend. He ended up ordering 12 more wings after he had already eaten 18!

Their pizza is also amazing, although, I have heard it is the original Brogy's recipe, so I must give credit where credit is due...Brogy's always made amazing pizza, and now, so does Knickerbocker's. They also have daily drink and food specials!

The last time I was there, I ate and drank with a girl friend. We started at a table with a super friendly waitress who was very attentive to our needs. We then ended up at the bar drinking and chatting with the bartender. He was extremely nice and ended up giving us some free drinks to sample when we weren't sure what to order. We tipped him big and left happy!

Don't feel like eating away from home? Knickerbocker's does have carry out, so call them up and order some of their terrific food!

Need a ride to and from this great place? Knickerbocker's has a limo service that is incredibly reasonable! For just $10 per ride in the local Washington/East Peoria, IL area, they will give you a ride! If it's outside of the area, it's $20 per ride. Split that with a few friends and that's a great deal, in my opinion, and way cheaper than a DUI or getting you or someone else hurt or worse! I think that's an awesome service for them to provide to their patrons.

So, if you haven't tried Knickerbocker's, I give it a 4 out of 5 stars! The only reason I didn't give them a perfect score is because of the cover charge on the weekends and that some people might not like the bar type environment.
