Review of Knights Inn Sandusky Ohio, A Pet Friendly Hotel

This spring, I planned 2 day getaway to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. In need of overnight accommodations, I researched several hotels in the surrounding area that best suited my needs.

My research led me to Knights Inn, located at 2405 Cleveland Road in Sandusky. The hotel is only one mile from Cedar Point Drive, the road that leads to the entrance of the park. There were several reasons I chose this hotel, including price, location and availability. All of the rooms are under $100 per night, even the Jacuzzi suites. Our room was only $60 per night. Also, if you are looking for a hotel that welcomes pets, Knights Inn is a great choice.

It was wonderful that my boyfriend and I were able to bring our dog with us on the trip, and he was able to stay in the room with us. Knights Inn has special rooms for pets, which do require a refundable security deposit of $25 upon check in. I was never able to tell that our pet room had previous pets in it; it was clean, fresh, and free of hair. Even though my dog had never been away from home overnight, he seemed comfortable. There was even an area outside of the hotel where he could go for a walk and do his business.

Included in our room was a comfortable king sized bed, nice TV, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, sofa, in-room safe, and Jacuzzi style bathtub. The hotel also has an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, along with a free continental breakfast each morning. The breakfast offerings were more than I expected, and everything looked appetizing. The breakfast was served in a screened gazebo, which was nice. However, we skipped the breakfast at the hotel and just had Starbucks coffee instead.

When we left for Cedar Point, our dog stayed in the room. In the middle of the day, we left the park and came back to check on him. I was surprised at how well he was doing in there by himself. After a day of fun at Cedar Point, we went to dinner at Red Lobster, 2 miles away on Milan Road, which was easy to get to from our hotel. There were also many attractions around the restaurant, such as Sandusky Mall, Meijer, Target and more.

When it was time to leave, the manager returned our deposit and wished us a safe trip back home. I would really like to commend this particular manager, Brenda, who was friendly and helpful to us during our stay.

If you are planning an overnight trip to Cedar Point this summer, I highly recommend Knights Inn on Cleveland Road. I had an exceptional experience here, and will definitely stay here again when we return to Cedar Point next spring.
