Review of Krogers Meals Made Simple Beef Pot Roast with Gravy
Makes a Meal Quickly that is Hearty and Delicious
It is made with beef chuck roast but only has 17 oz (1 lb 1 oz )of meat . However, if you combine it with some mashed potatoes and veggies like I did, it is a quick meal for two people. It was on sale for $4.99 which I thought was very reasonable, but normally sells for about $6.99. I'm not sure it would be worth that to me for the small amount of beef insides, but then with beef prizes rising as fast as they are, maybe it is not a bad bargain for a home cooked meal.
The meat is rubbed with seasoning and has caramel color added to the gravy, but even the gravy is exceptional. It doesn't take long to cook, just eight minutes in the plastic container it come in if you cook it in the microwave. But you have a choice of making it in the oven or as a boil in bag, as they give you direction for both on the box.
Each serving is about 290 calories and is about 5 oz per person. The total fat per serving is 20 grams, 95 milo-grams of cholesterol, carbohydrates are only 2 grams, with protein being 25 grams.
All you do is remove the cardboard around the package and cut three small holes in the package of meat, leaving it in the black pan they give you, stick it in the microwave for six minutes in the Microwave on MEDIUM, then turn the tray half way through the heating. Let it stand for two minutes and you have a wonderful, tasty ,
roast beef dinner.
The ingredients in the package are listed as Beef Chuck Roast, Seasoned Gravy made with Natural beef juices, water, less than 2% salt, dextrose, spices, granulated garlic and onions, modified corn starch, hydrolyzed SOY protein, beef stock, autolyzed yeast, beef extract, maltodextrin, sugar, caramel color, shortening, xanthan gum and spice extractions.
All in all it was a good product for the money as was the other Krogers Meals Made Simple Beef stir fry I bought before.
