Review of La Madeleine Restaurant in Dunwoody, Georgia

I was first introduced to French cuisine in Richmond, Virginia more than a decade ago. It was a quaint little place located in downtown Richmond. The Duck confit was one of my favorite dishes. It is a French dish made with the leg portion of the duck. You can find this dish across France, but it is more widely viewed as a specialty of Gascony.

Most people think of crepes when they think of French cuisine as well they should since no one does fruit crepes as good as the French. However, they offer so many other wonderful desserts such as their classic lemon tarts, crème brulee and a variety of pasties like French vanilla tart with berries and fresh fruit mini tarts.

The first time I visited La Madeleine in Georgia I was impressed with the style. Once I walked through the door I immediately imagined myself in the South of France at a little bistro. The lovely décor inside of La Madeleine is filled with warm touches like exposed brick and a grand fireplace that is not only lovely, but warms you on a cold afternoon or evening.

Sure the decor is lovely, but what about the food? Well, let's take a look at their menu. I have had both lunch and dinner at La Madeleine, so I'll try my best to cover my favorite lunch and dinner dishes. However, they do offer breakfast as well which includes croissants with egg, bacon and cheddar cheese and Cinnamon French toast. Some of my favorite lunch items are: Mediterranean salad served with Cucumbers, tomatoes, green onions, eggs, artichoke hearts, olives and feta cheese, tossed in a marjoram-infused vinaigrette. This salad is so great but will allow room for that special dessert. Also, the Quiche Florentine is fantastic and made with eggs, spinach and Swiss on a heavenly delicate pastry shell. Can't you just taste it now?

If you think that sounds inviting let me tell you about the dinner offerings. Their Rosemary Rotisserie Chicken is done perfectly with their signature Rosemary blend of herbs and spices. If you are not a meat fan, don't worry there are wonderful choices for you such as their Mediterranean Pasta or Vegetarian which is served with Fresh Roma tomatoes, melted provolone, hummus and pesto* sauce served on a buttery alpinette. My mouth is watering already!

La Madeleine also offers catering services and is a great place to have a wedding party or anniversary dinner. Bottom line - Great locations in Georgia, Great food, Reasonable Prices and family friendly.
