Pluses of Lala.com:
A user does not have to register to first test out the site and may listen to each chosen musical selection once for free. Registration on the site is also free and very little information is requested from the user. To register you only need to enter your e-mail address, first and last name and a password of your choice. You may opt out of receiving e-mail from the site.
Search navigation is also easy on Lala.com. To begin the user is presented with a search box where they can enter a music group or song title. If the user is unsure of the spelling or complete title, suggestions will pop up after entering the first few letters into the search box. Users may also search by category or genre of music and the list is well populated.
While searching music the user will also be given information about the artist and a complete list of music available from that artist or group. Playing your musical choice is as simple as clicking on the white arrow in the blue circle next to the title of the song that you wish to hear.
There are no advertisements to disturb the users listening pleasure. Lala.com does offer the first 25 music selections for free and the .10 purchase price of selections will be credited towards the purchase of a downloadable MP3.
Minuses of Lala.com:
While the first 25 songs are free for adding to your collection of stored music, additional selections are .10 each. You may listen to un-purchased songs only once before you need to purchase or use your free credit for unlimited listening.
A credit card is required for purchasing music on Lala.com. Credit cards are the only form of payment allowed and the card holder must be over the age of 18 for consent. Users may be as young as 13 but must have an adult users permission for site use.
The actual music that is stored does seem to have occasional delays or skips in the playing of the song. Some of the songs also play at an unusual speed. This may not be the case with downloaded MP3s but this reviewer had not downloaded any MP3s to test at this point in this particular musical adventure.
