Review: Left Behind by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B Jenkins

Mary Briggs
All of the sudden people have just disappeared in the matter of seconds, leaving behind their clothes and any other material things they may have had on them at the time. What has caused this great disappearance? Where has everyone gone? What has happened to their families? All of the children born and unborn have disappeared as well. Rayford Steele is trying to keep the passengers of his 747 calm with the help of Hattie Dunham as they try to land the plane in the midst of chaos. Ideas from Global Warfare to Christ's return to aliens invading earth are being shot around by everyone. What really happened here?

Go to your local library and check this page turner out. You won't regret it nor will you want to put it down. I have to say this book will truly give you a whole new perspective on the way people believe even if you aren't a believer. Those who do believe will question if they truly believe and if this is going to happen to them. This is the first book in the series: Left Behind about the end times and the author's interpretation of the Christian Bible and the tribulation. In this book, you read into great detail about the Bible and the tribulation when Christ comes back to claim his children. You go through the lives of several people and see how it affects their lives, relationships and jobs. How they discover what has caused this great disappearance.

The amazing thing about this book is the fact that it is written as a story with characters and you can truly play it out in your head rather than a perspective piece that are sometimes boring and can't keep your attention very long. The story is intriguing and captivating. A real page turner. I would recommend this book (as well as the rest of the series) to anyone young or old.

You don't have to be a believer for this book to catch your attention and intrigue you. You may question your beliefs when you are finished whether you are a believer or not. A great Christian novel for anyone to read. Be sure to read the whole series.

There is a series made for children as well. It is called Left Behind: The Kids Series. There is also a movie trilogy set based on the adult series. It is called The Left Behind Trilogy.

Left Behind left an imprint of fear and anger inside me. the imagery on the cover book left me sad and frustrated. The death and carnage was an anger inside me. Nonetheless, there is a oneness between Left Behind and I--there fore I declare my love for you, Left Behind, its chahracters, Tim Lahaye, andothers. I lo
