Other companies may be out there lining up smaller, less powerful tablets but that isn't stopping Lenovo from coming up with another great, albeit a little larger sized tablet PC: the ThinkPad X201.

With a screen size of 12.1 inches, a thickness of about 1.3 inches, and a weight of 4 pounds, this isn't one of the models geared towards those of us with a "lighter is better" dogma. For those who can handle it though, the X201 is something that is worth looking into.

"Powerful" is the best way to describe the Lenovo ThinkPad X201 tablet. It has a 2.13 GHz Core i7 CPU that is considered to be of lower voltage from Intel and 4GB of ram that makes it one of the faster tablet PCs in its category. It also has a 5400 rpm hard drive that packs 320 gigabytes of storage.

Although heat problems on the CPU sometimes occur on these types of laptops, this wasn't the case with the ThinkPad X201. The i7 CPU remained relatively on the lower end of the thermometer when put through some tests.

There was a little build up of heat on the system during a video loop playback that lasted several minutes, but it was not much of a problem. The battery on the other hand produced approximately six (6) hours worth of regular computing power.

The look of the Lenovo ThinkPad X201 is just as great as its performance. It sports a simple, yet elegant and chic design. The keyboard is solid and spill proof, with very tactile keys while the body holds a lot of ports on the side.

There are ports for VGA and Ethernet, jacks for a mic and a headset, and three USB ports. It also has a small touchpad located right below the keyboard.

Of course, we cannot forget about the awesome 12.1 inch touch screen that highlights this incredible laptop. The screen is very clear and vivid. There is no apparent effect of the touch screen layer that has been layered on top of it.

Furthermore, any input on the ThinkPad X201 with the use of the included Wacom stylus or through our very reliable fingers was taken in well by the touch screen. Response was very good and command recognition was just as impressive.

Overall, the X201 provides enough reliability for regular heavy duty use, it is ultra portable, and it has great touch screen abilities. All of these assets make this Lenovo ThinkPad a definite must have for power users that can fork out about $1,900 for a laptop.
