Review of the LG GM750 Phone: An Affordable Touch Screen Phone with Windows Mobil 6.5

The LG GM750 "Layla" comes with Integrated GPS, 5 Megapix Camera, Touch Screen Display, and High Capacity Internal Storage and loaded with Windows Mobile 6.5. This phone will be competing vigorously with the other touch screens out there and because of it's affordable pricing it might just beat out some of the more popular models.

It allows for lightning quick internet browsing via an easy to use touch screen interface. You can access the web with the WAP2.0 browser that supports the latest in HTML & XHTML so you will be able to surf and check your email on the go with no issues.

The size of the phone is very slim and measures only 1.2cm deep, small enough to fit in your pocket and forget all about it. The case is reported to be very durable and so it should survive the first two or three drops (we know it's going to happen!).

The camera has auto focus capacity and because of the 5 mega pixels it comes out surprisingly clear. The lens is located on the bottom end of the phone. It also can shoot video clips easily. It has capacity for MP4, H.263, WMV vid files and can play your favorite MP3 files as well as well as just about any other audio standard out there.

If you wanted a phone that can view Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote and Adobe PDF documents while you are on the go then you have picked the right phone. With it's Pocket Office attribute and the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional Operating System it has no issues viewing your documents. It is also equipped with Bluetooth.

The display has to be one of the nicest features on the phone with its anti-scratch 3.0" 256k color screen. It is not as large as some of the phones out there these days but for the price this display is hard to beat.

The phone also features something new from Microsoft, the company has bundled a new feature called "My Phone" service which lets you save and sync data with tight security over-the-air & online. This will be useful for things like taking video shots with your phone or still images with the camera. It also comes with the ability to get access to things like themes and widgets from Microsoft that will work on this new phone. You can also download 3^rd party applications from Microsoft Marketplace that carries over 600 applications for Mobile.

The only CON of course, those that are use to the manual buttons of a blackberry like me, would have to get use to the touch screen and the sensitivity of it, the push and drag on the blackberry storm almost drove me nuts. The other con might be that early indications are the screens are not as bright as some of the more popular touch screens out there as well.

Affordable and well worth the money it costs, for the price range, you will be hard to beat the quality of this phone. The phone was released on October 6 and should be available in your area at this time.
