Review of the LG Viewty: The Sleek, Stylish, and Powerful Camera Phone

LG Electronics has just announced its plans to launch the LG Viewty or LG-KU990. The LG Viewty is LG's first professional level, high end camera phone. LG mobile has made several innovative designs when it comes to mobile handsets and has already made a buzz with their Black Label series which includes the LG Prada and LG Chocolate mobile phones. The company is now expanding their mobile phone products by introducing high feature phones and the LG Viewty is the first handset to be launched under the company's high feature phone category.

LG chose the name, LG Viewty to sum up what the phone can do best; viewing and sharing high quality photos. Viewing and sharing photos is made possible because of the LG Viewty's large LCD touch screen display.

Specifications

The LG Viewty sports the same glossy, black design of the LG Prada and could very well be the second version of the LG Prada but only with 3G and without the Prada branding.

The LG Viewty runs on GSM Quadband network and UMTS 2100 MHz network, it has a 3 inch, 240 x 400 pixel resolution, 262.144 color TFT display and has a 5 megapixel camera with Auto-focus, Schneider-Kreuznach lens and Xenon flash. Video recording up to 120 fps is possible and there is another front camera for video calling. The LG Viewty will have a 170 MB of internal memory, expandable with a micro SD slot. Connectivity options with the LG Viewty include USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. The Viewty will also come with the standard media player that can play AAC, eAAC, MP3, WMA audio formats and 3GP and MPEG4 video format.

Notable Features

The most notable feature about the LG Viewty is its camera and video recording function. The 120 fps video recording is a world's first and surprising to find in a very small device. The LG Viewty provides a one click access to YouTube for easy sharing of their videos capture on the device's camera.

The LG Viewty, aside from taking high quality photos, thanks to its 5 megapixel camera, manual focus, image stabilizer, AF, and Schneider Kreuznach optics, will also give users the ability to enhance and edit their images right on the phone.

Pricing, Availability, and Final Words

The LG Viewty will be available in October and will be first revealed by LG during the IFA 2007 in Berlin on August 31, 2007, no price has yet been set for the LG Viewty. With the addition of the LG Viewty to LG's black label series, LG may well be on its way of establishing itself as an innovator in design and style.
