Whenever I come across a new cereal I scoop it up just about as quickly as I spot it on the shelves. Recently while prowling my local grocers cereal isle, I came across a box of New Limited Edition Pebbles Boulders- Stone Age Caramel & Apple Cereal.
Being a fan of the Pebbles brand since childhood, I wondered what this new flavor had to offer. Last year they delivered a Cupcake flavored Pebbles which I loved, and hoped that this newbie would offer the same sort of love affair.
Out of The Box:
Pebbles Boulders- Stone Age Caramel & Apple Cereal looked just as it did on the box, round boulder sized Pebbles which came in an orange caramel color, and a green color. The mix of colors sadly gave it a gross overall look, which was not all the appealing.
To top that off, the scent of the cereal was nothing too welcoming either.
Taste:
Unfortunately, Pebbles Boulders- Stone Age Caramel & Apple Cereal, was literally the very first cereal I have ever purchased that I ended up throwing out completely. I took two bites of it and I tried to like it, but it just got nastier and nastier with each bite.
The cereal had a sickly cardboard texture to it, and the flavor was way too overwhelming, with the caramel stealing every ounce of anything that may have been apple flavored. The caramel flavor was not a good one either, it was a fake sugary flavor with a bitter caramel aftertaste.
Overall:
Sorry folks, this one is simply put- disgusting. The texture is harsh and cardboard like, and the flavor is nothing as what one would expect. Instead you get a gross looking cereal, topped off with a nasty aroma, and an even nastier flavor.
The box itself looks charming and inviting, but what you get on the inside of the box is nothing of the sort. My overall suggestion would be to skip out on this one entirely.
