Review of Little Debbie 100 Calorie Nutty Bar Singles

During the past few months I have been making efforts to keep daily caloric intake at honest levels to avoid putting back on several pounds lost early in the year. I have had pretty decent success accomplishing this task by purely counting calories and keeping snacks and desserts at respectable levels. To keep up this promise to myself, I picked up a box of Little Debbie 100 Calorie Nutty Bar singles at the grocery store. I try and limit my lunch time dessert to between ninety and one hundred twenty calories, so this treat was well within range.

Convenience

The bars are sold as singles of which there are twelve to a box. Each single is wrapped in plastic just like the regular size Little Debbie snacks. I find these singles to be very convenient as they are great for packing for children's school lunches as well as my own. The singles are much easier to pack than the regular Little Debbie twin packs which require splitting up and dividing amongst the kids' lunches. The steps of dividing and re-wrapping are completed avoided with the single size portions.

Taste

The taste of a Little Debbie 100 Calorie Nutty Bar is pretty much like the original Nutty bar. The bar seems to be a tad smaller than the regular bar with apparently one less layer of wafer and chocolate. The reduction in these ingredients makes sense if Little Debbie is out to reduce calories down to a hundred. Overall, I enjoyed the taste of this peanut butter chocolate cookie and find it to be a great finish to lunch or mid afternoon snack when sugar levels are low.

Price

A box of twelve Little Debbie singles set me back $1.79. That price sets each bar at a cost of fifteen cents which is inexpensive. I am sure there are plenty of treats out there for a much cheaper price, though this price for these bars is a great value as this item is already prepackaged and eliminates the steps of portioning and re-bagging.

Overall Satisfaction

I have always been a long standing fan of many Little Debbie products. This brand always seems to offer competitive pricing for very tasty desserts. The single portion nutty bar is the perfect one hundred calorie treat for those counting every calorie on a daily basis. I recommend this product as a very strong buy.
