Review: Little Tikes Endless Adventures PlayCenter Playground

I purchased the Little Tikes Endless Adventures PlayCenter Playground a couple months ago when it started to get warm out in hopes of getting my children to spend more time outdoors this summer. It is kind of pricy at about $900 from Target but it comes with everything you would imagine a playground should have. It is also very sturdy and feels like it will be able to survive my kids for years to come so I am happy with my investment.

The PlayCenter has two swings, a two person glider a slide, a rope climbing net, a sandbox, and a couple other cool features. There is a covering over the platform at the top of the slide which is nice because it is a shady place to sit out of the sun when they get tired of playing. My kids often sit up here to play board games or eat lunch. The sandbox was originally meant to be a toy storage area but one of my kids has always wanted a sandbox so I thought this would be a perfect place to do it since it came with a cover and everything.

This product is made of thick, durable plastic. I considered a couple wooden sets but chose to go with plastic for a variety of reasons. The plastic will never rot like wooden sets tend to where they touch the ground. The plastic set is also very easy to keep clean because I simply spray it off with the hose whenever I notice it getting dirty. Wooden ones require staining or waterproofing to maintain them and there is always the risk of slivers.

However, the main reason that I went with plastic was because of the difficult time my sister and I had assembling a wooden play set for her kids. The pieces were very heavy and required a lot of tools to get them together properly. I was able to assemble this set in about 3 hours by myself except for a couple times when I asked my young kids to help me hold something.

My kids are 4 and 7 and have been getting a ton of use out of this PlayCenter already. I am very pleased that they are now spending more time outdoors rather than inside on the computer. This should be a great thing to have during summer break when the kids are home all day and I am always looking for something to keep them entertained.
