I don't usually buy makeup and cosmetics from the drug store and tend to go for pricier eyeshadows that I know have a lot of pigment. However, most of these L'Oreal eyeshadow duos were on sale so I bought a few to see if they had enough color and pigment for me.
Each L'Oreal HiP Concentrated Shadow Duos has two colors of eyeshadow: one on each side of the container. The Forgiving color combination has a bronzy brown color and a deep blue. The Charisma eyeshadow combination has a light purple with a hint of pink and a darker purple.
The Forgiving eyeshadow could be worn with the brown over the eyelid and the blue in the crease. It's a bold combination for those looking for something to stand out. The blue would also look nice on the eyelid and paired with another color in the crease.
I find the Charimsa combination to be better suited for each other to be in the same package. The lighter purple color would go on the lid while the darker purple shade could be placed in the crease. The only downside of the Charisma combo is that it does not sure up as well as other shades. You have to pack it on.
The colors in the L'Oreal HiP Concentrated Shadow Duos show up best over a eyelid primer. The Forgiving and Charisma colors blend well together when you use a eyeshadow brush. The colors stay long enough for an event, but I would not recommend application for day to evening wear. You will have to do some touching up.
Each L'Oreal HiP Concentrated Shadow Duos has a small applicator sponge brush tucked away in the bottom. You can retrieve it by unsnapping the bottom. The applicator is nice for convenience to have when you're applying your makeup on the go. The Charisma eyeshadow also included a mirror to my delight. It made my impression of the packaging so much better. The Forgiving eyeshadow did not have the mirror.
The verdict. Overall I would recommend the L'Oreal HiP Concentrated Shadow Duos in Forgiving and Charisma if they fit your color choice. This product is great for teenagers and women on a tight budget, especially when purchased on sale. It also works well for those that want to try certain colors without yet committing to a more expensive brand of eyeshadow.
