Review of the Los Hermanos Mexican Restaurant in Bakersfield, California

Shannon Wilson
Los Hermanos, located at 3501 Union Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93305, is a Mexican restaurant that is a combination of restaurant meets drive through. The restaurant is pretty easy to find and is right next to a Burger King. There is ample parking with handicapped parking available.

When you enter the restaurant, you immediately see the dining area with booths and tables on the left hand side of the restaurant. Immediately on the right hand side is a short hallway that will take you to the restrooms. Walking a bit further, you'll see the cashier and menu area on the right hand side. Straight at the back is the drink area and a section that is dedicated to a few different salsas that you can serve yourself when you get your meal.

There is a large menu at the order counter so be sure to take a few minutes to decide on what you'd like before placing your order. When it is not peak eating hours, it can still take a while to be waited on. When I went with my family, we had to wait several minutes because there were only two women working. One who made the food and the other who worked both the counter and the drive thru window. We didn't mind waiting but if it had been much longer, it would have bothered some of my party. It wouldn't hurt to have one more person on hand so the cashier wouldn't have to run back and forth. The woman who took our order was very nice and helpful. We ordered several meals, with drinks.

They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. My family goes mainly for lunch and sometimes for dinner. Our last visit we were there around 11 AM and it was not busy. There was only one or two other people inside and a couple at the drive thru. Their prices are average to other Mexican restaurants and if you go to Restaurant.com you can buy a certificate for a discounted price that lets you get ½ off your meal. Using that coupon (only one can be used a month), makes it a very good deal and it allowed five adults to get meals, chips & guacamole plus drinks for under $40 dollars.

Our food did not take that long to arrive. It was good, hot food. In my party we had several different orders such as a plate with two ala carte shredded beef tacos, enchiladas, nachos, chips and guacamole, etc. The woman who took our order also brought us our food. She even checked in on us which I thought was nice since it's the kind of restaurant that doesn't require a server to check in with you.

The décor inside is what you'd expect to find in a Mexican restaurant. Nothing to loud, just a little ethic decorating that makes you feel welcome as you dine there. The restaurant is also clean. Highchairs are available if needed for children.

For more information, call (661) 328-1678. Their business hours are Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 9:30 PM, Friday and Saturday 9 AM to 10 PM and Sunday, 9 AM to 9 PM.
