The Magellan Maestro 3200 GPS is the most basic model in the Magellan Maestro series. It is an affordable GPS with plenty of features but without the bells and whistles of the more expensive models. Some of the basic features include:

1.) 3.5" color LCD display: on the small side but doesn't affect the view too much and is plenty for everyday use.

2.) Pre-loaded U.S. maps of the continental 48 states, Hawaii, and Peurto Rico: Typical standard fro any class model and unless you're taking a ferry or travel to Canada regularly should be sufficient.

3.) Address book, capability of saving on an SD card to move from GPS to GPS: Most new models of GPS have the SD card capability and the size has become standard so moving it from device to device is handy.

4.) All of the special Magellan programs are included (SiRFstarIII, SmartDetour, and QuickSpell): Please refer to the Magellan website to review each of these exclusive programs offered on all Magellan GPS devices.

5.) Automatic Reroute: If you travel off of the suggested path the Magellan Maestro 3200 GPS will calculate the new route within 5-10 seconds.

6.) Auto night view: The light will adjust to night setting at a preprogrammed time. You can adjust when and if this happens and can be reviewed in the manual.

When you open the Magellan Maestro 3200 GPS it can basically work out of box. It has a very simple operation and prompts you for the initial set up. After you follow the prompts you are ready to use it. The slim design is very travel friendly and for the lower end model feels very sophisticated. The dash holder is firm and sturdy piece that suctions easily. Setting up the advanced features such as address's and you home base are also easy and with basic knowledge of a GPS you can get through it without the manual.

The battery on the Magellan Maestro 3200 GPS is rechargeable and lasts fro approximately 3 hours from day one. You will lose battery life as you charge the unit and after a year expect it to only last about 2 hours with regular use. The power cord has a cigarette lighter base and fastens to almost any car.

The Magellan Maestro 3200 GPS is a great starter or travel unit and the price will agree with you.
