While the item is pricey (about $300), it is far superior to making drinks in a conventional blender. The machine is well-made and features two motors (one for shaving ice and one for blending). It's aesthetically pleasing and your party guests will definitely ask you about the curious-looking bar equipment.
When the Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker shaves ice is when the user begins to see the machine's capabilities. The maker produces shaved ice that is a consistent with restaurant-quality shaved iced. Ice consistency is one of the key things in making great drinks. You don't want big ice chunks in your frozen delight, nor do you want it over blended so it makes your drink watery. That issue is not even a concern with this machine. It could not possibly do the job any better.
The drinks you serve are a perfect blend of mix and booze as long as you follow the directions that come with the machine. It will make you think you are at a restaurant, not at home. The machine also has a shot glass and salt rimmer that comes with it so you can perfectly salt margarita glasses. I have even put sugar in the glass rimmer for sweet drinks that look perfect! The machine is not just for party time either. My godchildren love the machine to make snow cones that make you feel like you are at the county fair!
The machine has a 32 ounce glass jar that makes 1, 2, or 3 drinks effortlessly by just pushing a button. I like the glass jar because it has a big handle which makes it easier for me to hold with two hands when my carpal tunnel acts up.
While overall I am satisfied with the Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker, I wish that the machine would hold more ice. The ice reservoir is on the small side and requires the user to fill it often.
Shaving ice is a powerful task that can wear on a motor, so it is also good to know that the machine comes with a 1 year warranty. So far, I have had no problems with my machine and hope to have frozen drinks for years to come!

Post a CommentI love the machine it is a little expensive. I find myself making smoothies more than mixed drinks. This unit shaves the ice without any effort it also has a water catch for when it begins to melt. The onlt think I dislike is the unit is its very very tall and does not fit under cabanets or in the cubbards either. It is huge.
I agree with the post on the drinks being watered down. I have to add ice directly to the glass. Sorry, I am a Buffett fan but I am disappointed with this expensive machine. By the way if you have not tried the Mango mix, do it soon. They are fantastic.
If your drink is too diluted, try a stronger mix. I really enjoy mine. I tried a cheaper one from JC Penny's and it broke after one day's use. I know others with the Margeritaville mixer that use theirs often, so I believe that it will be durable.
I got my machine at the outlet mall in Seattle and it is so awesome.. Great for Ice coffee's and smoothies as well as booze drinks... I wish the accessories were for sale at the stores though.. Totally recommend it!!
Took the maiden voyage with our new machine this weekend. It was fantastic. Best deal is to buy it in the Linen n Things store. My local Sunday paper had a Linen n Things ad with a 20% off coupon. I picke dhte unit up for $240 plus tax. Well worth it. Best Margarita. As good as the best summer hangouts.
There must be something wrong with my machine. It grinds the ice so fine that as soon as it hits the drink mixture it begins to melt. It looks like a drink that has been in the hot sun. If you grind more ice then you end up with a very diluted drink. Not happy with my machine at all.
