We had The Chicken Pot Pies and they made a great meal. One pot pie filled me up, it was big enough and filling enough to be a great meal. They are made with crust on the top and bottom and filled with allot of filling.
The chicken pieces are bigger than I expected. They were all white meat of the chicken. Usually you get little cubes of chicken or other meat in frozen pot pies, but this was huge chunks and they weren't cut out in cube shapes. It looks like it was pulled apart like you would do at home.
The ingredients in the pot pie were chicken in chunks, sliced carrot pieces, peas, potatoes and celery. None of these were diced, they were sliced. The celery was in nice big chunks as well as the potatoes and carrots. It's about the same way that I would make it at home. There was sufficient amount of fillings in the pot pies.
Since I microwave them I was impressed to see that the top browned with the packaging that they came in. I bought the 4 pack, and each pot pie was wrapped separately, you just open both ends of the package and put them in the microwave. The package that they are wrapped in is what makes them brown on top. They actually looked like they were baked in the oven. They were nice and brown on top. Even the bottom of the pot pies were a little brownish color. I served them on plates, and they came out of their container nice and stayed together unlike some brands that you have to scrape the bottom of the pie out from the container.
These tasted great the sauce inside was the correct thickness and wasn't too runny. My family loved them these would make great snacks for the family during the summer of you can make them as dinner.
With the 4 pack they are 10 ounce each. In the microwave it takes no more than 7 minutes per pot pie, in the oven it would take less than 50 minutes. These are very high in calories, 640 calories per pot pie. But I can tell you each calorie was delicious!
