I purchased four items to try and compare to my normal brand: the liquid concealer, the powder foundation, powder blush and finishing powder. The Mineral Power line also carries a liquid foundation and is compatible with their other products.
On the first morning of trying my new make-up, I used the concealer to attempt to camouflage my under eye circles. I found it to be very easy to apply and blend according to the directions but I could not quite get the results I desired. I appeared to be too thick and when I used a make-up sponge to try to lessen the coverage, it was pretty much gone before I knew it.
The Mineral Power powder foundation was also easy to apply and blend, I had a lot more success with it than I did with the concealer. I did like the overall look and evenness of my skin tone, after only using a small amount of the product. However, the color was just slightly off, as I find drugstore cosmetics to be in general. My skin always seems to have an orange-ish hue when I using drugstore brands, and this was definitely the case with Maybelline's Mineral Power make-up.
The blush was equally as nice to apply as the powder foundation; I really liked the color, Gentle Pink, a whole lot. It was nice and light, but I did have to use three applications to put any color onto my cheekbones. The overall effect however, did not look overdone; it did however wear off quickly.
The Finishing Veil Powder was the product I liked the best out of the four. Once more, I was pleased with the ease of use; the powder itself was yet again light and airy. It blended my make-up together well, setting it nicely.
All of the Mineral Power products are fragrance free and quite nice for sensitive skin types. If you are on a budget or need to go up a shade when tanning on vacation, Maybelline's Mineral Glow line would be a good choice for you. If you want long-lasting quality make-up that matches perfectly with your skin tone, stick to better brands like Bare Escentuals.
