Review of Meet the Browns

Betty Asphy
Mr. Brown is played by David Mann. The seasoned older man of the house. He always seems so serious, but misquotes his words such as calling a recipe a "res sp." Or when he says he was "scurred" he really meant scared. You will see him wearing a rainbow of colors, and none of them seem to match at all. Yes it is not uncommon to see him with flowered brown pants, and a flowered rainbow shirt. This is his fashion statement. He has a high pitched voice too. Mr. Brown also can be annoying yet amusing.

Cora Jean Simmons played by Tamela Mann Is Leroy's daughter. She is awesome. She is also Madea's daughter. If you ever watched Madea's family reunion, that is the Madea that is Cora's mother. Cora is a devoted school teacher. She really seems to enjoy teaching children. Occasionally Mr. Brown has invaded the classroom while enforcing his school patrol duty. From time to time you will see parts of Madea's character coming out of Cora.

They have occasionally had the main cast from the House of Payne to appear on the show as relatives to Mr. Brown and Cora. They all just seem to fit so naturally. This Tyler Perry Show is just one of the greatest productions that he has written.

Dr. William Brown, MD, called "Will" is played by Lamman Rucker. Even though he is a doctor he really gets upset when he finds birth control pills in Brianna's book bag. He really wants to be harsh with Brianna, a high school teenager. Sasha, Will's wife, sort of intervenes and she does talk to Sasha about the birth control pills they found in her bag. Will and Sasha always try to let Brianna and her brother Joaquin know that they adopted them, because they loved them.

Sasha Brown, RN played by Denise Boutte is Will's wife. She sometimes seemingly carries her heart on her shoulder. She wants so much to become a part of the family. Her and will live with Mr. Brown and Cora.

Colonel Clephus Jackson, played by Tony Vaughn, is a formerly military man. You can tell by his attitude. He has militant ways that become very evident throughout the television series.

Edna Wright Barnes Grey Foster Jacson plays the character Juanit Jennins. She eventually marries the Colonel. This marriage does not take place until after the Colonel has a heart attack. Edna then fears that the Colonel just does not want to marry her.

Renee LaToya Smith played by Terri J. Vaughn is quite out spoken. She has been at some times referred to as "Boujee Barbee." She is a gossiper. She loves to promote office gossip. She just cannot seemed to keep anything to herself. Although she sometimes acts as though she could care less. She has a very soft heart. She seemingly can always out talk her boss Sasha. She seemingly does not want to really work, but just slough off at work. This is a character that definitely keeps me laughing. She is just naturally funny.

Brianna Jena Oris played by Logan Browning was adopted by Will and Sasha. Things started out kind rocky with them in the beginning. Eventually they began to work out their problems as they would arise.

Joaquin Orit Brian's brother played by Gunnar Washington is the younger brother of Brianna. Even though he is younger, he cares and wants to watch over his older sister. He would often come to her for advice at various times.

These are a few of the main characters.
