Review of The Melting Pot in Dallas, Fine Dining Fondue Restaurant

We had one unique dining experience during last weekend when our family went to the fine dining restaurant, The Melting Pot, situated at 4900 Beltline Road, Suite 200, Dallas-75254 in Texas, having phone number as 972 490 7027. This is a fondue type restaurant. The fondue dining experience is very enjoyable and gives us the feeling of involvement and the close interaction while dining. This restaurant is located at 133 locations in total 36 states in the USA. Many more locations are under development. Though, I have traveled in many countries of the world, this was my first experience of fondue dining.

We had made our reservation in advance as it was a Labor Day weekend for 7.30 pm in the evening. We reached at the restaurant, situated on the first floor of the building in time and were taken to our table. Our server presented the menus with the glasses of water. The ambience of the restaurant was simply superb, with beautiful light decorations, bar, and the wine storage area. We studied the menus and were amazed to find that there were around 120 varieties of wines served here. The cost of half bottle of such wines was varying from $30 to $300. We started our dinner with wine glass. We were surprised to find out the heating burners placed permanently on our table with the temperature control provided below the table. Each and every item served here like cheese, salads, vegetables, and deserts are placed on this heating burner. The vegetables and other items are served separately. You have to dip these items in to heated cheese/chocolate fudge by the fork and eat directly. This is called fondue type of dinner.

We ordered the cheese with vegetables as our main course. We enjoyed it thoroughly as we were able to dip vegetables in to heated cheese to our own taste. One small order of cheese and vegetables was sufficient for two adults. While one such large order can be sufficient for four adults. While we were enjoying our dinner, the house magician came to our table and started showing various magic tricks. Our grand son enjoyed those tricks immensely. We went for ordering desert thereafter. The chocolate fudge was available in around ten varieties like dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate and their various combinations like with cookies and dry fruits. The bowls of the cold chocolate were placed on the heating burner. The small pieces of strawberry, banana, marsh melons, cheesecake, and fruitcake pieces were served separately in a dish. We had to pick such pieces, dip them in to the chocolate fudge and eat directly. One small order of desert was again sufficient for two adults and a large order can easily be sufficient for four adults.

The kind of service provided was very fine. The key aspect of this restaurant is that all the items served here are to be consumed fondue style. One point of caution must be kept in mind and that is to maintain the proper temperature control of the burner as otherwise as you reach towards the bottom of the dipping bowl, its contents would be extremely hot and can result in to the burns in your mouth. The total bill came to around $180 between five of us in all, including all the items from wine to desert. The restaurant does appear slightly expensive, but it provides excellent opportunity to enjoy the lavish fondue dinner, which in itself is a novel idea to try. If you order full four-course dinner, all the courses like cheese, salads, vegetables and the desert would be served in fondue style only. The total charges of such lavish full four-course dinner can be around $60 per head without the taxes. In spite of being it expensive, the restaurant is running full, almost on all weekdays and you shall need a reservation to avoid long waits. The restaurant also sells the gift cards in case you want to present such gift cards to your friends and relatives. There is no to go services available here at this restaurant in view of its nature of serving fondue dinner.

If you have not tried one of these fondue dinner restaurants, I would strongly suggest all my AC readers to try it at least once and enjoy either with your family or friends.
