Review: Menus4Moms Website

When You Just Don't Have Time to Plan Meals, Does This Website Work?

Dotchi Latham
I am a homeschool mom, writer and a Certified Nurse Aide. I don't have time to plan elaborate meals, or even basic meals. Years ago I joined a group of busy moms in sampling menus for a new site called Menus4Moms. It has been a lifesaver on my busy weeks and can help you plan healthier meals for your family. The best part? The basic menu plan is free and you can choose to have it mailed to your inbox each week. My review will help you decide if Menus4Moms is the best option for your busy family too.

Menus4Moms Introduction

When you subscribe to the Menus4Moms weekly dinner menu, every Thursday they deliver the menu to your inbox. It includes a menu for 5 dinners plus the grocery list. You also have the option to buy other plans from Menus4Moms like Frugal, Living Gluten free, Food Ministry and Busy Moms menu plans. If you don't want menu plans coming to your inbox, you can cruise over to the Menus4Moms website each week. The current and next week's menu plan will be on the left hand side under "New and Updated". There is also a yahoogroup run by MaryAnn, the creator of Menus4Moms to help you with if you need it.

The Menu Plans

Each week's menu plan includes five dinners and a shopping list of everything you will need for that menu plus a printer friendly version of the web page. You can see a sample menu from August 10-14, 2009 here. They have complete instructions for assembling the meals including food you can freeze ahead. You can read my article Make Menus4Moms work for you for ideas and tips for using Menus4Moms or post a question on the Menus4Moms yahoogroup forum for advice. You will need to sign up for a free yahoo account to join.

What about Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks?

If you don't have time to get creative for breakfast, lunch and snacks, MaryAnn also has a page for those here. Theses lists are great for ideas on what to serve your hungry family.

My Overall Review

Menus4Moms may not be the best menu plan for everyone but it really helps me. I enjoy the variety and it keeps us from eating the same dishes all the time. With a little planning ahead, I can make the meals in advance and save myself a lot of time during the week. I have used Busy Moms and the Basic Menu Plan and enjoy them both. I prefer the free version because my money is tight these days. Menus4Moms helps me plan ahead so I save money by not eating out or buying a lot of food I don't need. For us, Menus4Moms works!
