A friend of mine from Virginia was a big fan of Vietnamese food and soon convinced me to try it for myself. The first restaurant that we went to didn't have anything on the menu in English, so I had no idea what to order. I guess you already how that went. Not well. I would highly recommend that you visit a Vietnamese restaurant with English on their menu.
Recently I had the opportunity to visit a Vietnamese establishment in Duluth, Georgia, Miss Saigon. The thing that most impressed me about this place was the atmosphere. The décor was very nice with marble table tops, glass pendants for lighting and the servers were extremely attentive. Even the menu design has a flare of sophistication with the gold engraved letters.
Miss Saigon has both booths and tables, so it's up to you where you'd like to dine. I typically prefer booths as it just gives me a feel of privacy and comfort. I turned my attention to the menu which is in English, so there is no fear of ordering squid, unless of course, that's something that suits your taste. The menu consists of a variety of soups, seafood and rice dishes. One of my favorites would have to be the chicken noodle soup. Of course it's not your traditional noodle soup, but it is absolutely delicious!
The soups come with chicken or beef and in some cases you can add your favorite seafood. Of course you can choose from several other dishes which includes Miss Saigon House fried rice, Grilled pork or even Filet Mignon cooked to perfection on a bed of rice with cucumbers. The menu is as diverse as the culture itself.
Miss Saigon is located at 6590 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth, Georgia 30097. It is in the same strip mall as Walgreens and Vinny's Pizza Restaurant. This location is great as its right next to the Gwinnett Arena and hotels such as The Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn and less than 2 miles from Georgia's Discount Shopping Outlet, Discover Mills.
The Bottom line: Unique food, great atmosphere and budget friendly for families. Adults can dine for less than $10.00 and children for less than $5.00. Give Miss Saigon a call today to book your next anniversary or rehearsal dinner at 770-418-1818 or visit them online at www.misssaigonga.com
