The village of Piketon in Ohio has exactly three motels to serve the US 23 motorists and the Piketon area. Just as the potential clients are individuals with different needs, wants and finances, so are the motels.

This large motel has Whirlpool jet bathtubs, television with cable and deluxe continental breakfasts. There is an exercise room populated with well-chosen weight equipment that is sure to burn up anyone's road rage. In the summer, there is an outdoor pool that is divine after a day of driving labor, or as an eraser of pent up energy.

The Town and Country motel is located at 7137 US Route 23, just a dash down the road from the Comfort Inn. Each suite has a 25" television with HBO, direct dial phones and complementary coffee. Two of the rooms are equipped with kitchenettes. There is ample room for large truck parking.

The Town and Country motel employs Spanish/English linguists, which is a great help to Spanish speaking Americans in an area that is close to being entirely English speaking community.

Piketon Motel is a short drive off the freeway and onto village streets. Its location on 604 East Main Street is commonly quiet. Each room is graciously equipped with the home comforts of a microwave and a refrigerator, as well as television and cable.

Piketon Motel employees present a caring attitude toward clients and their concerns. Cost for two people at one night is $35.66 plus tax.

All three are within close proximity to the Pike County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are also home to community, political and marketing events. Piketon also has within its village heart the DogWood Festival every year in Spring.

The Piketon Motel is very close to the Dog Wood Festivities. The Dog Wood Festival is an event with historical activities like sewing, quilting and making apple butter. Many arts, crafts and flea market type tables lines the streets, while carnival food shops clog the center streets.

The community has local entertainment that performs at center stage, and a king and queen contest for several age groups. Various child games like water balloon toss and egg races let children win Dog Wood spending money from the village. There is also horseshoe pitching and pie eating competitions for adults, but no money involved.
