Review: Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset

The Motorola H700 is compact, small and lightweight. The headset is sleek and stylish. The H700's flip-to-connect design allowers a use to connect to incoming calls simply by flipping down the microphone. A user can easily disconnect a call by simply flipping the microphone up.

The Motorola H700 offers a PowerFlip foldable microphone design for easy storage. When folded, the H700 can easily fit into your pocket, glovebox, purse, or other small space. The H700 also features an ergonomic reversible ear hook.

The Motorola H700 offers the BCO3 chipset and noise reduction and echo cancellation technologies, so that others can hear you. The H700 also offers a multi-function button which controls 3-way calling, call start and end, and hold and mute functions. The H700's battery offers 6 hours of continuous talk time or 130 hours of standby time. The H700 also comes with a travel charger, so that you can charge the device even when you're not at your desk. The H700 is compatible with the Bluetooth 1.2- or 1.1- enabled mobile phones, PDAs, PCs, printers and other devices which support headset and hands-free profiles.

Comparison

Although the Motorola H700 is compact, small, and provides for easy storage, it does not offer as many technological features as its competitor, the Plantonics Voyager 510. The Voyager 510 offers features which allow a user to use multiple PDA devices at once, seamlessly changing between different devices. However, the H700 offers a flip-to-connect design, making it much easier to start and end calls than with the Voyager 510's button, which can be hard to find and push while wearing the headset. The H700 and the Voyager 510 offer a similar battery life; both offer 6 hours of continuous talk time and the H700 offers a slightly longer standy time of 130 hours, compared to the Voyager 510's 100 hours of standby time. Although the Voyager 510 may offer more technological features, the Motorola H700's ease of use and convenient storage features still make it a great deal.

The Jabra BT500 Bluetooth Headset offers a longer talk time of up to 8 hours than the Motorola H700. The Jabra BT500 also offers sleek new styling, setting it apart from other headsets. However, it does not offer the convenient technological features that the Motorola H700 offers. Given the Motorola H700's sleek design and convenient features, I recommend the H700.
