The Information for the I-290 You Just Cant Find!

The I-290 Boost Mobile Pre-Paid Phone is valued around $50.00

With a $50.00 pre-paid card you can get un-limited, Internet, Txt, and minutes which isn't a bad deal but this phone has the worst drop call ratio and reception I have ever had. When you get all green bars the phone works great in most major cities I have been in but once you road trip a little out of town your calls will drop like crazy. The only trick I found to make the found get all green bars out side the city is to flip the phone upside down and talk with the speaker phone on apparently you get all green bars most the time! Weird huh? Try it! It worked fine for me..

Another big headache is when you are typing a text message and the phone ring's the call is auto answered and your message is either totally gone or in the drafts folder, Still a pain! There are some good feature's I can say, The voice record is nice but I hardly ever use it, The internet run's at a fair speed for a small phone the browser built in isn't good at all but if you figure out how to install a application called Bolt which is a wap web browser free for cell phones. It works amazingly good you can actually see full websites and some take a bit to load but it works!

Wall-Paper's and Ring tones? Ha most the time you have to use there service's to pay the fee's which are usually around three dollars per wallpaper or ring tone but if you are smart enough you can get a Motorola mini USB charger for your laptop plug it in download the correct drivers and install a program that will transfer them from your computer to the phone and back and fourth. Only problem I have ran into is the wallpapers have to be small enough and the ring tones have to be converted to 8bit by 8bit with a DbPowerAmp converter program but it does work and is free! One thing that I have used is a easy trick most people don't know about get your ring tone or wallpaper you want to use and text it to your phone!!! Yes this actually works and works great it sure beats a data cable and drivers any day all you have to do is open your email client and send a email to Your Ten Digit # @myboostmobile.com make sure you use the ring tone or wallpaper as a attachment for the email and that's all. It should show up under your text message of your phone then just choose the option to save it to your phone and your done!

Internet on the I-290 Boost Mobile? Yes but what's even better if you get a data cable you can connect it to your computer and use it as a modem! That's right you can easily connect it download the right drivers and dial in by creating a dial up thru your computer and access the internet thru your computer that is connected to the phone. Once modem drivers are install use this for the number to dial 'S=2#777' and use your 10 digits of your phone for the login and no need for password, It should verify and connect your computer to the internet. Speeds vary from where you are located but you are still able to get internet which is awesome and if you got the plan for unlimited access you are on your way to free internet! I am not sure if boost 100% supports this feature I found the information on how to do it on the internet so if you are worried please check with them first and make sure you have unlimited internet access in the first place.

The battery life on the I-290 seems to be fair enough I mean I had other phones that would just never keep a charge but once this thing starts beeping you still got enough time to get it plugged in unlike some phones that will just beep and POOF shut off. I do believe if this phone had a ext antenna it would be one of my favorite phones but like I said when it's in the city it actually does fairly good so if you plan on living in the city and not leaving your great.

It does have the walkie talkie features but I haven't really explored them yet and they appear complicated but im sure some will love that feature, I do notice there is no blue tooth feature on this phone which makes it really bad & also not having a camera just blow's my mind considering most phones now days have a camera. & I don't think it really has any video playback features on the phone it self. One thing that impressed me is how loud the speaker phone or the ring tones are they are very loud and clear which I really like.

Will I hope this article has been some what helpful I listed about the best features that I liked and what tips and tricks that I have found out about the phone hopefully it will help you also. Take care and God Bless.
