What this Motorola brings to the table is less in its design and more in its function. The 2.2 inch screen displays vivid colors and features touch sensitive capabilities. This basically eliminates the need for any keypad, and leaves the phone only two physical buttons, one for activating the camera and the other for a shortcut to activate the phone's media. As mentioned before, this phone is rather bulky compared to today's modern designs. The first thing you'll notice is a large antenna that sticks out. Most of today's newer phones feature embedded antennas, or they are very sleek and discreetly designed.
When you open the phone you will see a plethora of options and features. The PG2000 boasts a beautiful graphical interface where you can manage such applications as: instant messaging, picture and video display, a sleek interface to manage your MP3s, as well as a calendar. As with any good PDA, this Motorola allows you to use the stylus to input notes and messages. You can even scratch a note right on the screen with your own handwriting! Then all it takes is one hit of the save button in the bottom right corner, and your message is securely saved for further viewing.
The phone also comes equipped with a two megapixel camera, which is the average in today's current mobile phone performances. The phone also includes a micro SD card slot, which allows any owner to make use of some much-needed extra space. When viewing pictures, they are nicely displayed as four smaller thumbnails per screen. Using the stylus, it is more than simple to hit one picture and enlarge it to full view; otherwise you can scroll through your pictures effortlessly until you find the one for which you are looking.
The real highlight of the phone is that it supports PHS and works in triband GSM networks also. Various countries use different frequency bands for the mobile networks, and a triband phone can be used on three of these bands, usually chosen for two of the home country's bands and an additional one for roaming in other countries. Triband technology is a must-have for any traveling businessman or woman.
The Moto PHS PG 2000 will come into colors red and black. There's been no deck date as to when this phone model will be released, but the expected market reach will be very limited, if not exclusive to certain companies and overall business communications use.
