Mount Everest is basically the Nepalese restaurant but it serves authentic Indian food delicacies along with American, Italian, Greek, and Nepalese food items. We visited this restaurant for their famous buffet lunch on Sunday. We reached at the restaurant at around 12 noon and were able to get table for our family without any waiting. The decoration and the layout of the restaurant are also very unique and impressive. We were ushered to our table and served with our order of drinking water/soda as the drinks. We immediately started with our buffet lunch. The buffet lunch was served most decoratively on the tables with crystal white linens. The starters consisted of the three types of soups, vegetable samosas, vegetable pakodas, and the vegetarian salad. The chicken tikkas were also available as the starters in nonvegetarian variety.
There were around three vegetables like Mixed Vegetable, Masala Bhindi, and the dry Aloo. The most delicious Punjabi Dal was also available in the buffet. The non vegetarian items like Chicken Masala, Mutton Masala, and the fish curry were also served in this fantastic buffet lunch. The plain yoghurt, masala papads, and the raita of cucumbers were also available in the buffet lunch. The plain rice and the tasty vegetable pullao were also served in the buffet. Finally there were two delicious deserts also served like hot Gulab jamuns, and the tasty masala Kheer. These deserts were cooked in authentic Indian fashion and were very delicious. This buffet lunch costs $9.99 per adult and $5 for the child below 10 years. Looking to the varieties available in the buffet lunch, these rates can be considered very competitive. The restaurant serves the dinner as per individual order in the evening.
The appetizers of around six types are available at the rates of around $4 per plate. The main dishes of around 20 varieties are available in all types like American, Italian, and the Nepalese. The restaurant is famous for its Nepali Chicken Sag, which is available at the rates of around $13 per plate. The Nepalese Lamb Sag, Nepali Shrimp Sag, Nepali Chicken Broccoli, and the Lamb Masala are some of the most popular dishes served at this restaurant. Some sea food specialties like Shrimp Masala, Shrimp Jalfrezi, Shrimp Saag, Fish Curry, and Fish Masala are also available at the rates of around $14 per plate. The famous South Indian food delicacies like Dosas, Uttapas, and the Idlis are also available at the rates of around $9 per plate.
Many types of subs and sandwiches are also available at this restaurant. This restaurant has the total capacity of 80 persons. The restaurant services are also efficient, quick, and polite. The rest rooms are also quiet clean and nice. The restaurant remains open from 11 am to 10 pm from Sunday to Thursday and 11 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday. The only negative aspect of this restaurant is perhaps the same repetitive deserts of Gulab Jamuns and the masala Kheer, which are served in the buffet lunch on all days continuously. This aspect causes the monotonousness as far as the deserts are concerned and the customers get bored with these items. However, the restaurant can be considered very good in spite of this factor as all other food items served were most delicious.
I would suggest all my AC friends and readers, who are fond of Indian food delicacies, to visit this restaurant at least once during their next visit to Baltimore.
