Review of the Movie She's Out of My League

A couple of my friends and I went out to the theatres several weeks ago to watch this movie She's Out Of My League because we heard many decent things about the movie. At first I wasn't really that sure if I wanted to watch this movie because it did look a little corny. The advertising that this movie She's Out Of My League displayed on television, movie theatre's, and billboard's wasn't all that appealing. I mean come on how many movie's have the same core principle the nerd gets the girl of his dreams when in fact we clearly know that's not true in reality unless your rich than that's the only true exception. Well I did bite the bullet on this one and finally decide to see this movie (with a little bit of convincing on my friend's part) -because I was willing to give it a chance.

The movie She's Out Of My League is about a woman named Molly (Alice Eve), whose a beautiful, intelligent event planner that gets herself into somewhat of an embarrassing situation at the airport by a sexist employee that's sexually harassing her in so many words. If it wasn't for Kirk to intrude (Jay Baruchel) who's another airport employee, helps by bailing her out of that embarrassing moment in her life. Kirk the movie's main character is a skinny, geeky individual with almost no confidence whatsoever or self-esteem but is also somewhat of a push over. Kirk is knocked down so many times by the only people that know him well which includes his friends who are constantly putting his low self-esteem that much lower and according to them he's considered a 5. On the other hand Molly the one that Kirk saves at the airport, is considered a perfect ten, and in fact finds him appealing even going to the extreme of asking him out. To all avail it surprises his friends and family so much that they think it's a mockery considering that Kirk's a 5 and Molly's a hardcore ten. Molly's constantly being reminded by her friends that she's only dating Kirk because he's the safe bet considering her last boyfriend also a ten dumps her like yesterday's trash. So what is it, does she truly love him or does she just like him. It's interesting enough to get you to see the movie but not as appealing as let's say The Hangover or a movie like Date Night.

I did realize that the critics were way to harsh with this movie as they gave it a measly score with tons of negative reviews, but that's also expected. I found Kirk's and Molly's characters extremely enjoyable as they worked off each other very well in several scenes, I was certainly rooting for them to make it together throughout the movie. Kirk was a lot funnier in terms of his comedy lines as opposed to Molly's but a lot of the comedy seemed to happen around her. Marnie Kirk's ex girlfriend (Lindsay Sloane played Big Red the cheerleader from Bring It On) was really good in the scenes she starred in as the evil ex-girlfriend. She made her role so believable that it looked legit as always she's know to play that evil !@#$%. One of my favorite character's in the movie was Kirk's best friend Stainer, every single scene he's in he absolutely steals them and almost always makes up for all of the randomness or thoughtless lines used in this flick. He's incredibly funny, I almost wanted him in every single scene in the movie but that wasn't the case.

I say that you should forget about what all of the critics are saying and go ahead and see this movie. I went to see it with my friends and I wasn't all that disappointed and I did in fact enjoy the movie. I was completely "shell shocked" by Molly if that was indeed her real body I'd say I'm extremely jealous. She had unbelievable cleavage, nice tight body, a beautiful smile and pearly white teeth she was in fact the perfect 10 in my regards and I do agree with the title they gave her. I enjoyed the movie, but it's not deemed as one of the greatest romantic comedies I've ever seen, I'd rank it just below the ranks of The movie's The Hangover and Date Night. I would however make the decision and watch the movie because I did like it and if I had to I would spend my eight dollars again to watch this movie. I would recommend watching this movie but don't get the idea that this was supposed to be one of the best comedy movies you've ever seen. I truly appreciate the individuals that have taken time out of their day to read this review I am certainly thankful for that.
