Review: MSI Wind U100 Netbook

Patrick Valdez
I just picked up two MSI Wind U100 netbooks from Best Buy this evening. One for me and one for my daughter. It's everything you'd expect a netbook to be. I've only had it running for a couple of hours but so far its met my expectations. I am able to surf the internet, check email and even watch movies from my Netflix account, all without a hitch.

As most reviews of the MSI Wind U100 have pointed out, the built-in speakers are not the greatest so a good set of headphones is a must. The webcam is pretty weak, only 1.3 megapixels but its a nice little touch for a quick video message home. Everyone is saying that the 3 cell battery won't give you more than a few hours use on a full charge but I've yet to be in a situation where I am unable to plug in within that amount of time. Unlike a laptop, even after moderate use it does not burn a hole in your lap, it runs pretty cool and quiet. I was also happy with the 160 GB HD, a solid state flash drive sounds neat but I have more use for a roomy hard drive rather than a flashy flash drive.

Well folks, as I said, I've only had my MSI Wind U100 for a couple of hours so there is not much more to say for now other than this thing is sweet. I am quite happy with my purchase. Right, I only paid $329.00 for it at Best Buy.Product Features
